I had my 2-day air package shipped from CA to VA on Thursday, thinking it would land on Saturday… but after I shipped it out, I see that it said estimated delivery for Monday… i then checked online to see that for Saturday deliveries to happen, the label HAS to have the “sat” premium service selected and said on the label, for it to come on a Saturday… is it possible that the hub will just load it on a truck for Saturday if it lands during then, to ease up volume for Monday? Or would they just hold the package until Monday…

April 9, 2021UPS Second Day Air Can Take as Long as 5 Days to Get There!
Why does it sit there on Saturday when UPS delivers to residential customers on Saturday? Saturday delivery is a completely separate service level (2S or 1S). If you're getting regular two day, it won't go out on Saturday. The one possible exception is service recovery (if your package was delayed in transit), but even then, packages very, very rarely get upgraded to Saturday delivery. More on reddit.com
