Yeah, unfortunately it’s 2025 now. Most big companies have either stopped accepting paper check payments or will eventually stop. As a business owner myself, I can’t imagine how writing paper checks and mailing them is not a pain, but using accounting software is…. That’s just a crazy concept to me. QuickBooks is like insanely easy to use. My customers pay right through the invoice by credit card or ACH. Paying vendors takes no time at all. Everything is recorded in the GL. No manual entries, no drama whatsoever. You’d be surprised how much more time you have to grow/run your business when you’re not doing 1960s bookkeeping. And from UPS’ standpoint, think about how many people it takes to open and process payments in envelopes. UPS ships for 1.6 million customers each day. If you’re getting 1.6 million checks in the mail every month, you probably need a couple hundred people minimum to open envelopes and process payments. When customers pay by ACH you need an automated system to post the payments. It’s the way of the world now days. More on reddit.com

Wondering if anyone has had a similar issue with UPS and if so what have you done to resolve it?
A little background; our small company used to be located in CT for many, many years where we had a UPS account and had very few problems. We had it for so long we transitioned from UPS paper shipping books to UPS online account shipping. About 13 years ago we moved the company to FL. At that time, UPS gave us a new alpha numeric UPS account number, although we still log in to UPS under our old 6 digit numeric account number.
Sometime around October 2023 we started getting charges against our current UPS account number. They are mostly delayed charges for shipments by unknown parties from locations where we are not located to Amazon warehouses, in locations where we are not located.
There is a way to dispute the charges with the UPS billing center but often they deny the claim and we have to call the billing phone number and explain the issue to them finally get them to give us a credit for the false charges.
It got so bad that we requested UPS close the account associated with the alpha numeric account number we used in FL for the last 13 years and give us a new account number. Just like you would ask that a credit card be terminated and a new credit card be issued when it is compromised.
We got the new number eventually but UPS has never terminated the old account number or disassociated it with our account and continues to send us bills for shipments made from Arlington, TX or Cerritos, CA or an Amazon warehouse at 33333 LBJ FWY, DALLAS, TX 75241. And all the tracking numbers do start with our old UPS shipping account number!
The latest bill is for 11 shipments and over $400 in charges. Largest bill yet. It seems to be a growing problem.

While most of us in this sub are UPS employees, we are mostly hub (warehouse type) or drivers, basically operations. You want to get in touch with someone in an office type job, preferably billing. Do you have an account rep? You may find someone here who can point you in the right direction, but unfortunately most of us will not be much help.
