I want to grow our print sales here, especially for business cards for our local businesses here in the area but we really want to do them in-store as well. I just need some guidance on the matter though:
What do we need to get started?
What kind of paper should we keep in stock for business cards printing?
Should we absolutely invest into an expensive automatic guillotine style cutter for this right now? If not, what cheaper alternatives are there to cutting multiple pieces of paper in an efficient and effective manner?
If someone sends use a graphic design to print onto business cards, what’s the best way to line up multiple of the same design on our computer so that I can print multiple business cards on one sheet of paper?

Find a business card slitter that can do it automatically. They have cheap ones for a few hundred that takes a few steps or for a few thousand you can get one that does it automatically. Or for 15-30k get an automated duplo Just really what you want to do. I would get 12-14 and maybe 16 pt semi gloss and heavy weight index cards for . Gloss cardstock will be useless cause the toner doesn't make it shine as much. Also signs365 is a good company for basic gloss cardstock.

Depends on what you're looking to have done. UPS and Staples often have $10.00/x-amount deals (usually 250, then 500, and another price break at 1000). But you're limited to single-sided, B/W printing on cheaper cardstock, with pay-to-upgrade options. I sometimes would try but our machines will only pull thru a certain weight of paper so any business cards we make in store will suck unless you have a machine better than corporate requirements. Business cards need to be 16 pt or higher to really be quality thickness. Every time I stupidly agreed to make the cards the customers always complained so eventually I just stopped offering altogether.
