UPDATE: update per the post below. A UPS rep called me and told me that they have been having a technical problem with their app, and when you pay for and request another delivery date, it is pushing that delivery date way forward. In my case, I requested for it to be delivered today on the 27th instead of the 26th yesterday– it pushed it to September 11! They put in a ticket to a supervisor to have it changed to tomorrow and claims I’ll get a call from them to confirm it. Doubtful but you never know. Another rep called later and confirmed it was pushed way too far ahead but seemed to be oblivious to what the other rep said about this having happened to other people. Gave me a different number to call to request a refund for the fee I paid. Either way if you’re going to change the delivery date via the app at least in the near term be aware there may be issues with it ——————————————————
I had a UPS envelope coming to me yesterday but I was going to be at the doctor all day, so shortly after the person shipped it I went into the app and paid the nine dollar or so fee to change the delivery date to today (Wednesday) the next day instead. The app says that the request was successfully received and says updated delivery date would be today.
7:45 PM – no package. Does not show out for delivery on the app. Just keep saying today for delivery. The help area of the app says 7 PM is usually the cut off for residential deliveries. I had to put in for a callback from a representative which is going to be at least 30 minutes But in the past they never do call back
So how am I going to get a refund because I specifically paid extra to have it delivered today instead. Is this just high hopes or do they actually refund when they don’t fulfill paid requests like that?
I stupidly tried to change the delivery date to be sooner for my package. It was shipped last Thursday and I requested it be delivered Monday. It was loaded on a truck on Friday and shipment progress showed on the way on track to be delivered this Thursday. On Monday, UPS website updated to show this:
The delivery date will be provided as soon as possible. Your package cannot be located at this time. We are working to accommodate your request if it is still in transit.
What does this mean? Should I just wait and see if my package is scanned into the local hub? There’s an option to cancel the delivery change - should I do this or will it just delay even further? Thank you for all the help!

Out of curiosity, is there a reason UPS can change your delivery date without approval and then charge you for it? I was expecting a package to arrive yesterday after requesting a redelivery, but it never showed up.
I later found out that a new delivery date was supposedly requested on my behalf, and I got billed for it. However, no one actually requested this change. Now, the delivery date is set for after Christmas. Checked my settings with customer service as well. And they could not find where the request came from.
A parcel is indicated for delivery tomorrow. I would like to change the delivery day to Thursday. I am registered with UPSmyChoice. I click on “Change delivery day” and cannot find the option to change the day anywhere. Can someone tell me exactly where I can change this?
Hi. Hoping someone can help answer my question and help with any confusion. I am a premium member and I frequently place orders from the same company and pay for UPS 2 day shipping, on Friday orders, they deliver on Tuesday (of course I know there can be delays but haven't experienced that yet. These are recurring, weekly orders and I always get them on Tuesday..so far).
I typically am able to request a certain window of delivery and when I went to do it this time, it had the option on the UPS app for me to request the package be delivered Monday 12/29 instead so I clicked that option and made the request because why not get it a day early if possible, right?
Tracking then stated that it received and is processing my request and will update delivery details.
The package has made it to the next transit station like normal in NJ and app still says it's processing the delivery date change request BUT tracking has now updated showing an ETA of Friday 1/2??? Why is it showing such a late date now??? Is this normal? I figure if they can't meet the 12/29 date then it would be delivered on Tuesday 12/30 as normal.
Thanks for any help in understanding!
I missed the delivery for my package today and they won’t allow it to go to an access point or be left at the door without a signature. I opted for the 11.99 charge they offer on their website to change the delivery date and it charged my card, the delivery date was pending, and it rescheduled for tomorrow before 7:00pm. I will not be home tomorrow and I’m really frustrated that I can’t speak to a real human when calling their customer service number. I don’t know what to do because I feel like I was charged for no reason at this point.
Gave me an option to request for delivery tomorrow (it was scheduled for the 12th but was just dropped off at a ups store so hasn’t even been picked up yet) will it basically upgrade to overnight once picked up? Or does reschedule delivery option rarely work?
A package I am expecting arrived at the local UPS store on July 12. As I will not be home until July 20, I requested the delivery date be changed to July 20, which is a Saturday. My request was approved, and I received an email confirming the rescheduled delivery date. However, when I checked the delivery status on July 13, the date had changed to July 22, a Monday. I need the package on July 20, but the UPS website does not allow me to change the delivery date to any date before July 22. Is there a way to revert the delivery date to July 20 (or July 19)?
I recently signed up for UPS my choice. It’s happened twice now where I get a notification at around noon that I requested a delivery date change, except I didn’t. Both times it was Amazon packages. In both cases the package was scheduled for delivery the next day. I was able to go into the app, cancel the request, and resubmit a date change back to the original date.
I’ve changed my password but highly doubt someone was messing with me. Anyone else have this happen?
I called UPS but they said from their side it looks like I requested the date change.
So I changed this delivery for a pickup on 19th at 9 AM. Before I made the change, the original delivery date was on 23rd (this Monday). But I haven't gotten any updates since then. The only reason I'm worried is because I'm gonna leave the country next week and I have to receive this delivery. According to UPS, all change requests are completed within 24-48 hours. We're at the 42nd hour mark so I'm kinda stressed out. What do you think is going on here? Do you think I can pickup the package until 27th because that's when I leave the country.
So for the past week my package was scheduled for today (Wednesday, March 24). Ive been refreshing my order all day and out of nowhere the scheduled delivery date changed to tomorrow (Thursday, March 25). I’m wondering if this is normal? My packages normally come the day it’s said to. The only problem I have now is that I’m leaving my place here at school and going home for the summer tomorrow which means I wont be here for my package. Should I wait to leave until my package arrives? I’m worried that if I stay another day its gonna do the same thing and not come. Help !!! :(
Call and have it held for pickup if it doesn’t come today. You can pick it up on your way out.

UPS My Choice
You can reschedule a delivery for another day ($5), or request it be held at a Customer Center for Will Call (free), or even authorize the driver to leave a 'Signature Required' package at the door (free), or even a neighbor's house ($5).
For anyone who buys online with any kind of regularity, this is extremely helpful.
Android App
iPhone App
(There is also a Premium version of My Choice for $40/year that offers unlimited free reroutes/reschedules, and also gives you a few more options)
EDIT: I should clarify a bit: The UPS My Choice membership is free, rescheduling or changing the delivery address is not free. Those options cost $5 per change. However, you can still request the package be held for Will Call for free, and you can also authorize the driver to drop off Signature Required packages without you being there, as well as my favorite: give the delivery driver custom delivery instructions such as 'leave on back porch,' or 'outer door is unlocked, set package just inside the door'.
I'm personally thinking about getting the Premium, if only for being able to choose a preferred two-hour delivery window.
You should also know certain companies (Best Buy included) disables these options through their corporate account with UPS, so even with My Choice, you will not be able to even pay to reroute packages.
I learned that the hard way.
Yeah, I tried doing this through UPS via Amazon, and they said they would do it for a 40 dollar charge, or I would have to go to the South Philly UPS station to retrieve my package. I told them to go fuck themselves and sent it back, got it 2 weeks later. I hate UPS.
both the shipper and ups customer service told me that the package is scheduled for delivery on Monday June 16. now the estimated delivery date has changed to Tuesday june 17. was the update of the estimated delivery date done by a human or is it just an automated estimate? the reason I ask is cause the estimated delivery date keeps changing since June 11 and the last tracking update was on June 12 with “delay due to operating conditions, your package may be delayed”. will it still arrive on Monday?
I had a package originally setup to be delivered last Saturday (Aug 20), but I knew my family would be out and with the package requiring signature I would need a different date. The day before, Aug 19, I put in a request to delay the delivery to today, and the request was accepted. This morning, no out for delivery status update went out and I did not receive the package. The last status is a “the delivery has been rescheduled as requested by the receiver message” from very early in the morning on Aug 20. And a few minutes ago, the estimated delivery date switched from today to “pending delivery date”, which immediately makes me think lost package.
Couple of questions:
-
This is more out of curiosity than anything else, but what actually happens to packages requested to deliver at a later date? Are there rooms dedicated to dates, preloaded on certain trucks or trailers? Or whatever actually happens.
-
UPS my choice offers unlimited date changes. I’m assuming it would be a massive dick move and not actually help anything to keep setting the delivery date to one day in the future for each day the delivery is missed. Or would this actually improve the chances of the package being found?

Would using one of the two free two hour guaranteed delivery windows help from my choice premium? Or waste of time?
I have a box requiring signature arriving tomorrow. I wanted to change the delivery date to thursday. I go online to make the change and it says they'll charge me $10.
Or...I can just let the delivery truck make an attempt tomorrow and they'll come back the next day when I'm there...for free. How does this make any sense at all?
I ordered a ph9ne through Verizon qnd it was supposed to be here yesterday.
Yesterday, around 4 pm is stated it was out for delivery. 30 minutes later is changed to delayed. About another 30 minutes it changed to Monday. Again, 30 minutes later is changed to today (Saturday).
I checked it at 9 it went to out for delivery by 7 today. Now it has changed ro Monday.
The service is Next Day Air Saver. The origin scan was on the 18th in West Chester, PA. It didn't leave from there until the 21st. Now it won't be here until the 25th.
I'm still holding out hope it will be here today, but I know that won't happen.
I'm just curious what is actually going on. Why is it jumping around like this? For it to change doesn't someone have to physically scan it?
