I am trying to send a package from the UK to France as a gift for a friend. I purchased shipping and attached the shipping label however the UPS delivery guy apparently rejected it when he came by on the basis that it did not have a commercial label. Do I need to attach one of these for a gift? I am an individual, not a business, and VAT was paid when I first brought the product. All the examples I have found seem to point towards being a business so I am not sure.

They are asking who to bill import duties to (importer) for the account. They are also asking what the goods are (classification). Keep any email communication you have that shows you responded timely if you need to dispute warehouse fees. It's usually 2 days at x amount per pound per day. More on reddit.com

I kind of hate suggesting this, but large companies have a habit of stepping up once they've been exposed (ie. via the news). I mean only if they're being bullies and absolutely refusing to budge. Hi, quick question I'm sending a 1kg parcel from the UK to the USA (its a handmade gift).
I've filled out the UPS forms online, and created a "commercial invoice" - apparently still required for a handmade gift, albeit, of no monetary value.

I have the invoice in a PDF format to print. At the bottom of each invoice it has an empty box saying declaration statement (see below). I understand I need to sign and date all 3 invoices. Do I need to write a statement in that box, or is it just for signing and dating?

Do I attach all 3 invoices in a pouch on the outside of the parcel? Shall I print it twice, to put an additional one inside the parcel, for good measure.

The declaration statement should read like this : “I hereby certify that the information on the invoice is true and correct and that the contents and value of this shipment are accurately stated above” You then put all 3 invoices into a pouch on the outside of the parcel, you don’t need to put anything inside, they won’t open it if there’s any issues they will contact shipper or return
