877-289-6418, option 4 (other) I just was able to speak to a live UPS person about my delivery issue (3 failed delivery attempts, even though I was home, and now being returned to sender). Found out the identity of the sender, contacted sender, and make alternative arrangements. I chose call-back option and got a call back within 10 minutes. It seems to me that 800-742-5877 is strictly Artificial Intelligence no matter what time you call.
So I tried to call ups Canada 10 times and it just hang up right after I dial the number. The number is 1 (800) 742-5877. Maybe you guys can try and tell me if you have the same problem. Edit: so I was able to talk to someone and they told me my package is not wnywhere nearby and it was supposed to come friday guess im waiting another week ****
UPS says they delivered a package to me, but it is not here. This has been happening a lot lately (4-5 times for me in 2022 out of the 5-10 UPS packages I've had delivered), but this one is a very important package related to my work. I've been trying for 30 minutes to talk to the robot support @ (800) 742-5877 but get no help, and it won't let me talk to a real person.
What's the current path we need to follow in the prompts so the system will get us to a real person?
Alternatively, is there a place where local UPS office phone numbers can be found so we can call them directly?
EDIT:
The number listed on UPS.com as "Customer Support" that's (800) 742-5877 is just a robot. I tried for 30 minutes to use different prompts across 5-10 calls to get through to a real person. The system just tells me to file a claim online and hangs up. Problem is the package was not eligible for a claim to be filed because the sender released UPS from responsibility when the shipment was created. Of course, you can't explain this to a robot and there's no way to get past that prompt to "go file a claim online." The "customer service" robot just disconnects the call at that point.
BUT, when I called what is listed as "Technical Support" on UPS.com. - (877) 289-6418 - that number got me to a real person immediately. Oddly enough, when I asked to be transferred to customer service they said they were in fact customer service, not technical support, so make of that what you will.
Either way, (877) 289-6418 is the best number available to reach a real person.
There is no way, at least here my part of the USA, to contact a local UPS office directly. I was told by 2 customer service reps on different calls that the local offices are set up only to make outgoing calls. There are no numbers available for us to call them directly. Probably just internal extensions with a phone number behind them every employee has been instructed strictly never to give out.
UPS has really lost its mojo in the recent years. I don't know what happened but their incompetence has never been on this level. I guess they just tried to cut costs by going to an automated-only customer service center so they cut costs, but the needs of their customers are far, far too complex for their current automated system to handle. It's truly infuriating, but the alternative USPS and FedEX are somehow even worse.
