What is the point of UPS Delivery Intercept?
The account holder has the most power when a package is shipped. Idk who you used as the "shipping center" that used their account to ship but they can request the parcel be returned. If they are telling you differently it's possible they either don't know that or don't know how to process it, or don't want to incur charges. They would need to call their contact number for UPS and request the change. If you really need to have the parcel stopped, the hold or return to sender is the only option. If I recall there are charges for the return to sender. Also, shoppers at hotels are not uncommon. Sometimes people are staying for extended periods of time and forgot to pack something or just didn't want to pack it for a trip. If that is the only red flag, then personally I'd let it go to the destination. Of course, if there are other red flags then that's a different story. More on reddit.com

Armed with this information, possible scenario's: They could call shipper, pretend to be you, and have them file a Delivery Intercept. Unlikely because it would cost the shipper money. They could call UPS, pretend to be the shipper, and file a Delivery Intercept charging it to the shipper. Whether this would be successful depends on several factors. If the package has not been shipped yet, they could open a MyChoice account under your name and address, and steal the activation code from your mailbox if one is sent. Then reroute the package. Federal felony. They could stake out near your address, and observe when the UPS driver usually comes. On the day of delivery, they could intercept the UPS driver, show them some fake ID (if even necessary) and get the package straight from him. Tracking shows "DELIVERED, MET CUSTOMER". They could steal it from your porch if left behind by the driver. They could steal the InfoNotice if one is generated, or snap a picture of the InfoNotice number, and file a reroute request. If you are really concerned, here is some things you can do. Have it shipped to your address with Adult Signature Required and Direct Delivery Only options. Doesn't rule out all of the scenario's above, but makes it harder. Set the value of the shipment as COD. Pay driver. After delivery, get the COD money (minus UPS fee) transferred back from shipper. This would rule out most scenario's. Have it shipped directly to a UPS Access Point and require a pincode to retrieve the package. This would rule out most scenario's.
