Hi everyone, recently, the Follow my Delivery map has not been working for my recent packages. Without it, I just have to wait around all day long because UPS could show up at anytime. If the map was showing I could just make sure I’m available when UPS comes in my area. Is there any way I can get the map again? Today I have a package coming from Amazon and due to high theft, everything needs a signature, so that‘s why I have to wait around all day if the map is not showing. I‘ll give a picture below of what the tracking shows me. Thanks!

The vehicles are equipped with GPS so they can basically follow your every move, along with mileage and see how much time is spent at each stop. I really liked "follow my delivery." I'm not home often, so if I saw my driver close to work, I would just run out to the general area and pick it up from them. Todays package isn't showing up. Is this no longer a feature?

I know all delivery drivers are overwhelmed right now, so I’m not trying to complain, but I’m wondering if I have any chance of my packages being delivered today.
I had paid for expedited shipping to arrive today and it gave me ETA of 11am-3pm. It’s now 5:45pm and for almost 3 hours the truck on the Live Tracker is sitting at the main UPS Center/HUB nearby and hasn’t moved.
He was in my area 3x today and passed my house but never delivered. ETA changed to “by 9pm” but I’m losing hope. Really needed 1 of the items to arrive today.

Could have been a double trip. Driver goes out with bulky stops at a bunch of businesses, then comes back and gets another truck with a bunch of residential stops. The whole route, including all the residential, is on one handheld device. The tracker tracks the first truck.. not knowing there is a second. It assumes everything is on the truck the driver started the day with. Dunno if that’s the case, but it’s my theory. Also. Ignore the time window estimates the online tools give. They are not based in reality at all. Could be 4 hours before that, or 4 hours after that. Depends on so many variables that the human driver has to take into account, that the computer isn’t even aware exist.

I get a map that pops up in my app about half the time. Sometimes the 3 promps (on the road, in your area, almost there) work great. Sometimes they never move at all and sometimes i don't get any map. Is this the specific truck that determines if this works? Is it my service level or maybe the driver? I'd like to understand it if at all possible thanks.

Map availability is based on both the package and the driver’s vehicle. If your package has a delivery window you will be provided a map closer to the start of that window. If you do not have a window you’ll be provided a map when the driver is close to your location (availability time can vary). If the driver’s vehicle is not equipped with a GPS device to “follow” them, you will not be given a view of the driver.

It depends on the driver's tablet, called a diad. The diad is what sends out the GPS signal, well it is supposed to. Some diads are better than others. For some unknown reason there are diads that just plain suck at transmitting and if you driver has a sucky one, then good luck following them. Also, since the diads work off cell phone towers, if the towers are running at peak capacity with calls, the diad GPS signal can't get through since it is considered a lower priority than a phone call. Also, some drivers know how to turn off the radio transmitter so they do that occasionally. Other times the driver will deliver to a factory that runs a signal jammer to keep people from stealing corporate secrets and that jammer will put the diad into airplane mode. The driver doesn't always remember to turn the radio back on immediately. Add to that weather and buildings that are basically faraday cages and you end up with lots of reasons why you can't see the driver on the map.

Some obvious: 1) your package is in the middle of the package car, somewhere, the driver has to unload at other stops to make room so he can get to your stuff. You would be amazed at how much stuff is crammed into the back of a package car.

Seems to be intermittent. Just now, it showed up for a delivery due this afternoon. And showed the truck nearby. I just checked again and now it shows a message, "Your Follow My Delivery live map is no longer available..." Maybe it turns off when the truck gets close by? Is that possible? Oddly, there is a link to track on a different page. If I click that, the new page (which is the same page) loads inside a window, so I get a page within a page. I can keep doing that and get a bunch of recursive windows. It's turtles all the way down....

I called 3 places including the local access point and even did the chat online. The company who sent the package stated they could not have it go to an access point. Button does not show up on website or mobile app, when I try and force it by typing in the url and when I do that it says Your Follow My Delivery live map is no longer available... It was working for my other package from a week ago but not with this package.
