So to preface im not mad or anything, i ordered with the knowledge that this was probably when i would be receiving this package as i was told from the shipper that’s usually what happens. Although does anyone know why? When i google it, seems like packages that are dropped on before the cutoff on Saturday with nda are usually delivered on Monday as its the next buisness day. All i was told from the shipper is that “carrier limitations prevent monday delivery on Saturday drop offs” again not upset or frustrated just curious as i cant find any one else online who’s asked this question. I assume the package just doesn’t enter the system until Monday? bonus dog pic for your troubles
How the fuck does a delay occur within ONE MINUTE OF RECEIVING THE PACKAGE?? Literally paid a next day air premium just to not receive my package when I'm supposed to. This is beyond frustrating. What are my options at this point? Is it possible that it's glitched? I don't know man, I'm very annoyed right now.
(it is 8pm est but 5pm PT by the way, so it is before the cutoff and all of my other packages have arrived to their facility by this time with no problem)
We may lose a $180K account because of UPS. We sent units next day air, they left the warehouse at 4PM in Alpharetta, GA. The truck goes straight to the distribution center, but they didn't check them in until 00:01 so that "next day air" could really be "two day air". The recipients had a whole team waiting to move the shipment to THEIR customers. I am disgusted. Next day air has almost never worked, but this time we had people watching the shipment get loaded and were the immediate last stop before the dispatch. Horrific.
Sorry for another complaint, I’m sure yall see this enough, but I am so extremely tired of this shit.
3rd NDA early package this week to not arrive until nearly 8pm. One of them was out for delivery and ended up missing my house entirely, and didn’t get here until 8pm the next day. Why would they continue to sell a service if they can’t manage to uphold that service?
I went to the UPS store and they generated label and packed it, yet the label says UPS doesn't have possession of the package yet. Had several follow up with the store and customer service. Nothing ...
EDIT: not sure why the online portal shows label created at 7:00 PM. Here's the original receipt that shows I mailed it at 5:17PM.
The sender/store shipped out my package yesterday via UPS next day air. Driver picked it up at 3.30pm. It’s scheduled for delivery today and Everything seems to be fine as the package was moving nonstop through multiple states but when it got to my nearest major hub it didn’t depart until 6am this morning. So now the last status is still showing as departed facility at 6am. I live about 1.5 hour away from that major hub and the package usually needs to get to my LOCAL hub here before 7am for it to be out for delivery on the same day. It’s now 7.30am and doesn’t appear the package has arrived at unit here locally. So is my package delayed at the last min? Or does next day air work differently and it’ll still get delivered today? Just so frustrating to see that it didn’t get here on time at the last stop! Should I go ahead and let the sender know to start the refund process? Paid $75 for it to get here today.
I am expecting an overnight package that was dropped off before cutoff time. I just received a message stating my package was given to ups after the cut off time and it may impact delivery date. Does UPS still try to get the package out that night? Is there anything I can do? Thanks in advance.
Usually there is one pick up per day. If it did not make it out of the drop off location, it will sit there until tomorrow’s pick up.
Sometimes stuff is just late (as in, the plane is late, or it fell off a belt in the sorting center and it took them a bit to find it, etc).
I get a second load of air packages around half way through my day for delivery (we literally call it 'late air' here). So it's entirely possible it'll still make it for next-day delivery, but might be later in the day.
My local UPS Dropbox has a pickup time of 5:45pm. Would packages picked up that late be able to make next day delivery or would I need to find a place with an earlier pickup time? Next day saver if that matters.
I have a package out for delivery today and it’s also next day air and the tracking is saying out for delivery till 7 pm. If I wasn’t mistaken, isn’t next day air supposed to be delivered in the morning?
Someone explain the 2nd Day Air process to me please. Walk me through what a package may experience during this shipping method?
Shipping from Atlanta to Phoenix — temperature is important here, don’t want the package to be too hot for too long. I’ve timed it so it delivers on the coolest day Phoenix has to offer this week.
I'm lucky to have two great UPS drivers. Neither has made an mistakes that affected a delivery as far as I know, and I see how hard they work. I ship a lot, mostly by taking items to my nearby UPS Store, but I also schedule pickups about once a week. The local UPS store is open until 7pm and has an air pickup at 5.30pm. When I'm late, I use my customer center (Boeing Field), and it looks like they just changed their air cutoff to 5:45pm, though until recently it was 6pm.
Yesterday I had a conversation with my driver who was concerned when I told him I had an air package. I had schedued a pickup from the current time 2:20pm to the default 6pm end-of-window. I schedule pickups through Pirate Ship as they charge a flat $4 for unlimited items compared with the much more expensive piece-based price on UPS.com with my account's rates. There is definitely an API call because sometimes in the afternoon my requests are rejected an unavailable even though it's before the hard cut-off times (3:30pm air/5:30pm ground). He arrived around 5:20pm, and I learned that when I have an air pickup he just takes it to the same UPS Store to meet the same driver by 5:30pm, so had already dropped off his air pickups. He told me that when I'm shipping Next Day Air, I should make sure I end my preferred pickup window at 5:15pm so if he doesn't get by earlier I will be the last pickup, and UPS can reject the pickup request if that isn't doable. I was surprised that UPS didn't reject/alter my pickup window automatically as I indicated it was an Air pickup.
Surprisingly, he said because I was shipping 2nd Day Air, the cutoff doesn't matter and they will meet the service commitment of 7pm on Friday, even if the shipment doesn't fly out until Thursday. And he was right, I see a Pickup Scan at 5:20pm yesterday, an Origin Scan at 8:07pm, and it arrived in Louisville at 1:43pm today. Now it shows a "Rescheduled Delivery" note but the ETA is Friday 7pm. This made me wonder, how is this rule implemented with respect to the cutoff times? For example, if it's after 5:45pm M-F and I need a package to get there in two days, which of these scenarios are true?
My driver applied a special notation when he scanned in my package to get it there on time, this wasn't automatic.
If I can get a package in a driver's hands that evening, the 7pm D+2 guarantee applies.
If I can get a package scanned at my UPS Store before it closes at 7pm, the 7pm D+2 guarantee applies.
If I can get a package scanned at the UPS Customer Center before it closes at 8pm, the 7pm D+2 guarantee applies.
If I can get the package scanned (if they even scan in packages) at a Shell Station that is a UPS Access Point before they close at 11:30pm, the 7pm D+2 guarantee applies.
Hello,
I have a question about the daily pickup service.
When the driver picks up a package from my location, I’m wondering if the package will be shipped on the same day.
For example, I heard the cutoff time for the 1 day shipping is usually at 2:45pm.
What if my package is picked up before noon, will the driver take it to the UPS store before 2:45PM, the cutoff time?
I’m just wondering if the package with 1 day shipping label picked up Monday will be shipped on the same day, on Monday.
Please let me know.
Thank you!
I'm looking for timelines for how next day works. This package was shipped next day and is now lost and another this week missed the date by two days. No weather just unexplained delays. We often drop off packages late afternoon is this compounding the issue? If we drop off earlier is it more likely to reach destination or is any dropoff location and time the same? Thank you! My customers have drop dead deadlines and when we miss them we lose money.
I ordered a package NDA (not saver btw) and I’ve done this frequently. I’m residential but have always had a guaranteed delivery time of 12pm, which was almost always upheld, with a few minor exceptions.
The last few purchases now say they will be delivered by 3pm to 7pm, but that has been extended to 9pm the last few times.
I thought maybe it’s due to being so close to the holidays, especially since I can’t find evidence of the NDA guarantee being suspended or altered. Not a huge deal, but I work nights and prefer to be home when a package arrives!
Any insight? Might it go back to the by 12pm deadline after the new year? Just curious :) Thanks!
Does UPS Ground service also have a cut-off time for outbound shipments ? Or are they all shipped right at the beginning (or end) of day, in which case there's no cut-off time during open hours ?
Constantly paying the very high price for overnight shipping and it’s never delivered next day or even the day after. Is there a reason for this, is this seriously considered acceptable?
So I paid for overnight air, and it has been sitting in the same place for 5 hours now. Delivery window says 9:15 AM-11:15 AM. So question is, if it doesn't get that delivery window today, will the price of the shipping be refunded?
I have a 2 Day Air package in transit to my location with a scheduled delivery date of today by 7:00pm. Right now it just arrived at the air hub in Philadelphia. Is there a specific time that the package has to arrive at my local facility for it to be put on a truck for delivery so I could receive it today? Or will it be put on a truck right as it it arrives at the facility.
