So I ordered an item sent out by Next Day Air on Thursday. It was promptly shipped Thursday. It was supposed to be delivered today, Friday, but is late and doesn't appear to be moving out of Tulsa Oklahoma. What happens now? Do they hold it until Monday, or will they try to deliver it tomorrow?
By the way, this is the second Next Day Air package from this store I buy from in Philadelphia PA that has been late this week. The last package was supposed to be here Tuesday and didn't get here until Thursday. Not the shippers fault either, they got the packages out timely, just UPS screwing up again.

Did the tracking actually show UPS being in possession of it at a reasonable time on Thursday? Or it just said label created? If that's the case UPS was not in possession of it yet and the clock doesn't start till they are. Also there's a cut off time when the air goes out for the night so again if it was received too late it wouldn't go out. Weather delays like snow or high winds can also cause legitimate delays. It's definitely frustrating not to receive things on time but UPS does have the best on time delivery record in the industry. Anyway... If the air didn't make it by today and the shipper didn't specifically pay for Saturday delivery then by default yes it will come on Monday. Although sometimes if air is running late like that UPS will upgrade it to Saturday delivery. Hopefully it arrives soon for you.
