How to pickup package from UPS hub or customer center or wherever
There is no longer any pickup at actual UPS facilities in the US. Previously a package would get marked for pickup so that somebody would go find it the trailer/sort (where it's buried with hundreds of other packages), take it to the customer counter, and check ID and hand it off. There's nobody doing that anymore, those jobs no longer exist. The counters are now unmanned, and the buildings are closed to the public. UPS corporate did not want to keep paying people to perform those tasks so the people who were doing that job were fired or moved elsewhere. Adult signature required is a restriction on the package. Generally adult signature is only added for legally-sensitive things (products under the ATF for example). If this is such a product then it may not be possible for any redirect. More on reddit.com

To ship to a UPS Store: Call the store to ensure they allow shipments via UPS to be sent there for pickup by non-mailbox holders. Not all stores allow it. If they do, they probably charge a small handling fee ($5-$10 sometimes more). They only accept UPS shipments if you don’t have a mailbox as long as they allow non-mailbox holder package pickup. If allowed include the following on the label: Receiver Name (must match ID) C/O The UPS Store Address of Store Address line 2: HOLD FOR PICKUP City State Zip Phone number If you do this regularly at your local store, you should sign up for the mailbox service. I'm a little worried because I have a package coming worth many thousands of dollars. I will not be home or have anyone to leave it to. Normally I would just choose "Pickup at UPS access point" however that option is "current not available" The shipper has confirmed there are no restrictions on the package other than Adult signature. (At least that's what they said). I called UPS and it seems like they had no idea what they were talking about. Is there some way for me to just go and get my package? I was able to push the delivery date out a little bit and it's in my town so it's seems insane that I can't just go pick it up. I'd even be willing to pay. Any help would be appreciated.

You should box your own stuff, as if it will need real protection. The UPS store packaging is hit or miss depending on who does the job. They don't help you if the pack job sucked and your console is damaged. If you are unsure, double box it.
