r/UPS on Reddit: How do I pay for duties and taxes when shipping internationally instead of the recipient?
January 27, 2021 -

I've never sent a package to another country before and I'm confused about the duties and taxes thing.

I'm sending a package from the US to Canada. The total amount of the items is about $35.

I've gone through all the steps of sending, and I'm at the payment section, and it says that the recipient will be charged on delivery for duties and taxes. I don't want the person I'm sending this to responsible for that. There doesn't seem to be an option to switch that over to me.

Also, how does that work? Does the delivery person take payment or do they get some notification and have to go to a UPS place to pick it up and pay there?

The item is a gift, I don't want them having to pay for it. I specified that it was a gift.

r/UPS on Reddit: How the hell do I actually pay UPS for an invoice?
July 12, 2020 -

UPS sent me a bill for brokerage charges after dropping off a package.

Their website is a total fucking mess and of no help whatsoever. It made me create some kind of corporate billing account (which I don't need), save credit card information, but then there's no way to add an invoice to it. I tried searching for invoices, but nothing comes up. It only seems to track things that I have shipped out or something.

I tried their tracking website to look up the package, but there is no payment option after I find the package.
