I bought an international shipping label from UK to US for around 400 usd. The person in the UK put the label on the package and sent it. Customs stopped the package, for a ridiculous reason: the package was dirty, Even though the package had specifically been cleaned. Now they are returning it to the sender. I called and asked if I could get the refund for the shipping label and they said it would be given to the senders account, and not mine, and I bought the label. So just because the shipper had an account associated with the shipping address, they get my money?

How did you buy the label, direct from UPS? If so, you're the sending account and it should go back to you. It's irrelevant who physically shipped it.
