i had a package that was out for delivery yesterday but it was canceled bc of “severe weather” … meanwhile it was sunny outside all day 😐 now the tracking has gone back to being processed at the ups facility & obviously wasn’t out for delivery today, what gives?? i hope the driver didn’t steal it 🥲

I too am experiencing multiple delays receiving package. Package arrived in my local metro area on Wed 1/22. Original delivery was supposed to be Thu 1/23, then delayed to Fri 1/24 due to "Weather conditions have delayed delivery until the next business day." Was not delivered 1/24 and then delayed to Sat 1/25 due to "An emergency situation or severe weather condition has delayed delivery." And apparently now it will not be delivered today Saturday, and has been delayed to Mon 1/27 due to "Significant weather events across the globe are impacting the UPS network. Although your location may not be impacted by adverse weather, the movement of packages in the network may be impacted by weather conditions in other areas.". There are NO and have been NO weather issues in my local area, so why is it taking 5 days (assuming it actually comes Mon 1/27 to get a package across town? This has now surpassed ridiculous. And when I try to DM them on X like I see other folks doing, when I provide my tracking number their bot responds "We're sorry but that tracking number is not showing in our system, can you resend?" That when on the UPS.com site, looking at the status showing all the delays.

The last 10 packages I've received have all inevitably been delayed and I end up with a "Delay: Emergency Situation or Severe Weather" message.
Usually, it's not a big deal if I receive a package a day late. It seems to be the norm now and I was curious if anyone else has noticed an uptick in this messaging?
None of the delayed packages have crossed international borders.

I have a package like that today. It is in the 80's and sunny out. The package is in my state and it is beautiful weather from the hub where the package is ,to my home and has been nice weather for weeks. It hasn't even rained for weeks, just 70's and 80's for weather. My package just says delayed (no update on delivery date) significant weather delays in your area? My husband owns a business and our very nice regular driver is out working , delivering on our street so if the package had made it to his truck he could have delivered it. My husband tracks alot of packages, his heavy parts comes mostly UPS. Oddly the only trend I see in these weather delay packages is they are almost always shipped from or go through the good weather? or warm areas like TX, AZ, NV, CA. The packages coming from New England or the Northeast, even this winter when there was a tons of snow and cold came quicker?

I know obviously no one here can give a specific answer as to what's going on but I have been following on the map on the UPS app my delivery. It had shown that the truck was on my street like two or three blocks away. Then all the sudden I got this message: "Delay: Emergency situation or severe weather." There is currently no severe weather, though we did have a snowstorm over the weekend. Does anyone have a general idea of what could be going? TIA

Im having an expensive (couple thousand dollars) guitar delivered this week, signature required.
Label created 12/31, package shipped 01/02
It was supposed to come yesterday. Earlier in the week they switched this to arriving today between 11am and 3:15PM, due to bad weather over the weekend.
Off work today just for this they have now switched it to "severe weather delay" at 4am this morning with no timetable for delivery of any kind.
Im working 12 hour days friday and saturday and I cannot possibly take off. If they deliver on friday or saturday no one will be here to take delivery. I cannot have a couple thousand dollar item sitting on my porch in the cold for an entire day either.
In the past I have seen an option to pick up my delivery at the distribution center but I do not see this option this time.
Any idea on what might be happening or what I can do at this point? How many times will they attempt delivery?

There are no UPS customer counters anymore. They were all closed. If its signature required it shouldn’t be just left at your door. But it might get sent to an access point

Depends where you are located. We are closed in my area today. However we make three attempts. You can also sign up for UPS mychoice and have alternate options on there including possibly having it redirected to the UPS store near you

Yesterday, got the update that my parcel made it to the ups center in my city, followed by it being out for delivery, only for two hours later being updated with that weather network. There hasn't been an update, and the weather was fine yesterday. It was even warm for a winter day here.
Three weeks ago, a giant blizzard hit my area, and UPS delivered a parcel with no problem. Honestly shocked that wasn't delayed, but this one is?
