Live Tracking the truck

Personally, as a former driver I really wish this wasn’t a thing. There is really no need to track drivers current location with UPS and FedEx. Between the drivers having pickups, other times deliveries, etc it offers no benefit to anyone and only introduces the option of customers harassing drivers on their route (see Amazon drivers getting berated on TikTok). The "Follow my delivery live on map" feature.

Honestly that feature was terrible for the drivers. I had customers finding me on my brakes, driving into industrial parks, blocking me in on docks, walking into docks and businesses, being coming safety hazards, just so they can get their Nikes. I’ve had people threaten to hurt or kill me just because I told them, “sorry I can’t get to your package right now” or “I have to deliver all my air first” or “Sorry my truck is too packed” or “I just don’t have it”

it was just not worth it

I have a ground package out for delivery and Surprise! the email included the option to live track the truck.

I haven't had this offered in more than a year.

I'm wondering if there is any rhyme or reason to why UPS offers it or doesn't offer it?

Have they gotten rid of it permanently? I feel like, at the rate they've been stripping features from online tracking, within a year or two it's literally just going to tell you when your package has shipped, and when it's been delivered. Seems to be a trend toward greater opacity between corporations and both their customers and their employees/contractors.

I get packages delivered frequently by UPS. Within maybe the last month or so I've noticed that when the package is out for delivery I am no longer getting the option to track the progress on the live map. This has been happening with UPS Ground packages and is happening right now with a UPS Next Day Air Saver package which is out for delivery right now. I checked within the app and I am not seeing the option to track on live map and I also checked on my PC through the UPS website. Has anyone else experienced this problem recently?

I hope so. We don’t need people tracking our every move and trying to pull up to us asking for their package (that I won’t release unless I’m at your home).

Mine still works but have agree it’s ridiculous customers can track a driver
