Honestly, good luck trying to time signed deliveries from UPS. It's a complete gamble. Of my last 5 signature required packages, all 5 of them were delayed, and not delivered on the scheduled date. My last one was delayed several days, then they lost it for two days, deleted all the tracking information, then on my next day at work made an attempt. I called and asked them to hold the package. They refused. Tried to deliver again and failed. Finally agreed to take it to a CVS that holds packages. Then proceeded to take an additional two days of no communication before it finally arrived at the access point. I paid for overnight delivery on that package and it took 9 days total to receive it. That's the worst case, but my other 4 signature packages all arrived 1-3 days late, without warning. It's very common that if a delay occurs UPS will simply delete all the tracking information and will not update it until the package is physically delivered. No idea why. More on reddit.com

It was your choice to order something valuable during peak season. I always tell my friends to get their online orders out of the way by late October, because come November, December, and even January, delivery predictions are not accurate.
