Label Printer for UPS Worldship & Worldease
No, Bixolon and Zebra are the ones that are used and supported. However, any printer that supports ZPL and 4x6 labels (or other UPS formats) will do. It will just not be supported by UPS Tech Support if not one of the mentioned printers. The beauty of ZPL is you don't need drivers, WorldShip can just send the raw ZPL straight to the printer's port and it will print. The Eltron LP 2844 (THE OG LABEL PRINTER) is AFAIK still also supported, although it uses EPL rather than ZPL. I wouldn't buy that one though, not sure how long it will still be supported. There's also some fancy stuff that you can't do with that one, like print accented characters. You can find the printers you mentioned on eBay. You don't need to buy a new one, a used one will do just fine (as long as it's still working). These printers are built like tanks and are very durable. I recommend the ZP450 but that's just because that is the one I have. BIXOLON is a newer recommendation from UPS to have an alternative for Zebra, and I'm sure they work just as well. Zebra is a US company, BIXOLON is from South Korea. More on reddit.com

March 20, 2024Installed WorldShip on a new computer. Labels are coming out but only have the SHIP TO: address and no barcodes or other information. How do I correct this?

January 18, 2023Trying to get a thermal printer to work with UPS Worldship 2018
You might have to install the printer as a zp450. I have had issues with ups worldship in the past when trying to use an "unsupported" printer that was identical to another zebra that they do support. I had to install it to the computer as if it were the supported one then it worked perfectly fine.

Not sure of the exact cause of the issue, but a possible workaround: Install a PDF printer if you haven't already, print the file to PDF. Does the PDF look correct (like the printed page is supposed to?) If yes, then try printing the file out of acrobat or your favorite PDF viewer. The printer may accept it. More on reddit.com

Hi community,
i'm very new to the world of UPS and i'm struggeling a bit to find the right hardware for label printing.
We are using worldship and worldease from UPS and apparently not every labelprinter is compatible with this software.
is there any known model out there that is well available to buy? I found two devices BIXOLON XD5-40dK/BEG (ony available in Germany) and ZEBRA ZP450 (is only available in USA).
Is any other model out there? Can you recommend one?
