It sounds like the app is looking for bi-directional feedback that it is not getting from the printer in the configuration. That is why the label prints anyway, because it just pushes out the print job. The delay may be a network traffic issue.

Trying to get a thermal printer to work with UPS Worldship 2018
You might have to install the printer as a zp450. I have had issues with ups worldship in the past when trying to use an "unsupported" printer that was identical to another zebra that they do support. I had to install it to the computer as if it were the supported one then it worked perfectly fine.

We have a Zebra 450 that’s connected to a warehouse machine running Windows 7 Pro 64bit. This machines shares this label printer, among others. In the shipping area, they use a thin client to connect to a remote instance in AWS EC2 that runs UPS WorldShip. This VM is running Windows 8. This is connected via VPN. The label printer shows up under Printing Properties and is selected as such. When you print a test page there or print a label, it says “No label printer is selected” however when you click “Yes” where it says “Print anyway?” it prints from the label printer just fine, though it hangs for a second. Normally it prints without this message and without any sort of hanging/freezing. Here’s what changed;
This printer was originally set up with a TP-Link print server. This device went down. We ended up adding it as a shared printer. For a while it worked fine and then this problem arose. I can’t seem to clear it since nothing appears to be misconfigured and obviously it IS seeing the printer. Maybe it just doesn’t like shared printers?
Looking to see if anyone ran into this issue and knows a quick fix!
I am trying to get UPS Worldship (software used to print barcodes on Thermal Printers for sending packages, for a company) to connect with a Zebra Thermal Printer (model 2844). I have installed UPS Worldship, and what I believe to be the correct drivers. I know the printer is working because it prints when connected to other machines with the same software/setup. However, for some reason when I hit print the Windows 7 Printer icon says Printer task: Error Printing. Do you have any ideas? I am thinking of uninstalling all of the software and drivers and starting again, other than that I do not have any ideas.
Thanks!
