I have a parcel shipped by my forwarding agent by UPS Worldwide Express Saver from Hong Kong to the USA. UPS quotes Worldwide Express Saver to be 1-3 days, but this package is taking an estimated 5 days.
I believe UPS re-enabled Service Guarantee for WWES and I'm wondering if I, as a receiver, have grounds to make a claim to UPS for a shipping fee refund. My forwarder is less than helpful in that regard since they promise a much longer delivery estimate (7-11 days) for some reason.

Hello!
I recently ordered a package with the hopes of it being delivered before I go on a trip (this Saturday)
My last update was 4/27/2026 at 6:16 PM, saying my package is “on the way” in transit from Chek Lap Kok
I’m using UPS Worldwide Express Saver, which according to UPS is 1-3 business days to delivery, but I’ve seen posts in this sub about items getting stuck in Hong Kong at the aforementioned last update for a while (albeit those posts are years old)
I’m just wondering what the odds are of my shipment being delivered by my trip. Thanks!

Impossible to say because it fully depends on customs. The express time doesn't include days waiting for customs clearance. Since UPS has no control over how long the government takes to clear it through customs there's no guarantee. Could be a day could be weeks

I wouldn't hold your breath, something tells me there's a huge delay with overseas packages. I have one coming from UK going on 2 weeks with no scans. Have one coming today that supposedly is on the truck but hasn't moved since this morning . It's literally just screw what you pay you getting it when you get it

Is there a long wait for packages to get onboard a plane to fly from Hong Kong to America (LAX or anywhere else)?
I have been waiting a week about and my package is still in Hong Kong and hasn't been boarded on a plane to fly over to America yet.
The seller told me there's a long queue of packages waiting for flights due to the current tariff situation.
Is anyone aware of this with their packages coming from Hong Kong recently?

Many smaller sellers are using what's known as "freight forwarding" companies. These companies gather up products until they fill a cargo container, and only then do they send out a cargo container. This means that there's variable delays before the product actually begins moving from the original port. It's also possible that it is not going to be on a plane, but rather a cargo ship. Nobody here can know the status of that package though, so you just have to wait.

I ordered an ipad and its coming from china. but ups site said it takes 2-3 days for worldwide express saver. but my tracking says that its due to deliver on the 9th. or am i wrong about how long WW Express takes?

Assuming that is clears customs pretty easily it won’t take very long. Though I’ve heard rumors that packages from China and Italy are being held for a time period (due to the virus) before going out for delivery

1-3 days is typical for Express intl. However, depending on where it's going and how up to date the receiving country's customs operation is, it can take much longer. We can do everything correct and if customs decided to get uppity, the package could be delayed. Germany and Japan are notorious in my experience for holding shit forever. Also, a lot of third world countries tend to cause delays in delivery simply because their technology is so far behind.
