Hi -- looking to buy my first car. I have a few cars outside of town that I'm interested in, but they all require driving pretty far to look at and I'd rather check out the local cars first. My question is -- does this car look reasonable? It's well over KBB price but I assume I can negotiate it down -- I'm just worried about some of the rust spots on the photos. I don't know enough about cars to know if that rust is structural or just cosmetic...

It seems like pretty low miles for the price. I'm seeing civics and accords with similar mileage for double the price, but they're ten years younger. Does that make a difference?
Other cars in the area for comparison: https://ithaca.craigslist.org/cto/d/2005-honda-civic-lx-sedan-5/6314862611.html (a bit expensive)

Car is over 25 years old and seller says mostly highway miles lmao always good for a laugh. Ask seller if his grandma was the single owner and it was in a garage every day.
As for the rust it's ok not great but if the frame is fine then it's only cosmetic on the body panels. Get it checked out for sure before buying or look for another car with less rust
When you have shitbox money, expect to find shit in the box.
I've bought many a beater in my lifetime with worse rust than that. Hondas in the era didn't have the best rust protection.
