Francis Lieber rolled in his grave as he quoted DoD Law of War Manual § 5.22: "During international armed conflict, it is prohibited to kill or wound the enemy by resort to perfidy. . . . Examples of killing or wounding by resort to perfidy include . . . feigning civilian status and then attacking."
P.S. This isn't actually an international armed conflict.
P.P.S. Shoutout to the r/army mods for removing this article for being "overtly political." Very nice, very good.

r/LessCredibleDefence on Reddit: U.S. Attacked Boat With Aircraft That Looked Like a Civilian Plane
2 days ago - Since the US military is very open about strikes on boats with questionable connections to the drug trade, why use a false civilian plane? It makes no sense. Human eyes are pretty bad at identifying moving objects in the air. Our experience is of things moving at completely different speeds, and aircraft are completely separate from the clues we normally use to infer speed and size. If a modern aircraft is attacking a ship, there is no reason for the ship's crew to see it, the aircraft can launch a missile while it is over the horizon.
