I have bought a Google Pixel 8. It has a USB-C female port for charging and a USB-C to USB-C cable (USB 2.0) comes with the package.
I rely on Google Maps daily when I commute and my motorcycle and car have a USB-A female port.
Should I get myself a USB-A (male) - USB-C female converter/adapter? Or should I get a USB-A to USB-C cable?
Any gadget recommendations that are available in India are welcome.
So I got this USB-A to USB-C cable to connect a PS5 controller to my PC for some quality gaming with haptic feedback: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08RMLWVL6. Now the 90-degree angled USB-C connector that connects to the controller makes the cable run too close to the trigger buttons which is really annoying. So I tried flipping the cable and using a USB-A to USB-C adapter to give the cable some more room away from the buttons, effectively making the cable USB-C on both ends. And here's the weird part that I don't get:
If I connect the adapter USB-C to the PC, and the "original" USB-C to the controller, the controller is recognized by the PC and works well.
But if I connect it exactly the other way around (i.e. original USB-C to PC and adapter USB-C to controller), the controller is not recognized by the PC!
How can this be?
