This is an interesting question. Theoretically, the maximum output from a 12-volt "cigarette lighter" socket is 180 watts, since most run through a 15-amp fuse (15Ax12V=180W). In practice, it's far lower. The last thing any manufacturer wants is for you to blow fuses in your car trying to recharge three phones, a laptop and a curling iron or something. For the most part, the fastest car chargers will charge your phone in a similar, though probably somewhat slower, timeframe as a decent charger at home.

Hi all,
I don't know if such a product exists but I'm looking for a multi port type-C car charger that has at least 1 100W port and that supports 15/20V output when requested.
I've tried the Baseus 160W adapter linked below.

This got really hot in winter here in the UK using a 12V 12Ah LFP battery charging a Surface Pro 9 and a few type-A devices non QC based so not pulling too much current. I took this to India for 6 weeks in December/January local temps were hitting the low 30s during the day one day the plastic cracked all around the negative connectors and the center positive was burning hot to the touch literally.
Please could anyone recommend something similar that can sustain at least 65W for the Pro 9 ideally 100W for high power laptops?
I've got a 12/24V 100W type-C adapter that can sustain a true 100W at 20V from a 12V car socket but its bulkey as it uses a rectangular brick similar to a laptop brick.

65W is fine on a 12V car charger. 100W? At that output power, you're drawing at/near the maximum 10A current for most cars. That generates a lot of heat that a conventional car charger design cannot get rid of fast enough, and that's without even accounting for the ambient temperatures within the car. It's for that reason many accessory vendors limit the continuous power draw for 12V to 8 Amps - that, or require direct battery clamps/connectors for anything over 10A-15A output. It's a lot easier with 24V as you don't have to pull that much current over those poor wires. That's what your Baseus 160W charger expects for full capability.
