Nikon states Z6 and 7 shutters are good for 200,000 actuations. Or about 5,555 rolls of 36exp film canisters. A quick google search answers that question. Since there is no mirror box snapping up and down, logic says it matters a lot less. The site doesn’t even have a return policy? Phone number? Got the email from Nikon advertising the Z6 III refurb at $1999.99. I don't know what the warranty is like on it because I can't find that info very easily on the website. For the Z line, do shutter activations really matter? Any known issues with the Z6 III that have popped up recently?

Nikon Refurbished items carry a 90-day warranty. The new items are a year, so you're getting 3 months instead of 12. I don't mind referb items for lenses. I don't remember getting a referb camera but it should be okay. While some cameras will have warranty-reparable issues in the first year, most cameras do not. As far as shutters go. It's complicated. For the Z8 and Z9, it doesn't have a shutter. Shutter count is totally meaningless. For the other bodies, there is a mechanical shutter. But it can be full mechanical (both the front and rear curtains fire), a "front curtain" mode where it only fires one of the curtains, and an all-electronic shutter mode where none fire. Sometimes you think you're in full mechanical mode, but the lens tells the camera to go to front curtain mode. Each of these modes counts as a shutter actuation, even if it never moves a shutter blade. So the actual number is not meaningless, but not useful at the same time. You can just use it to get a rough idea of how hard the camera has been pushed. Now apply this to the Z6III specifically, one photographer could be shooting 20 fps RAW which is all electronic and rack up 200,000 actuations in a year with no wear-and-tear on the shutter. But someone always in mechanical will have racked up the mean time between failure on the shutter, which is a pretty worn camera. You just have no way of knowing.
