Good luck. I just found this out the hard way. It's really fraud. The Supervisor at USPS told me that a 2 day delivery isn't guaranteed. Meaning that if you pay for a 2 day service, they can't even look into it until the five day window is over. It's pretty much FRAUD at it's finest, by the US Government. For instance, I paid $52.20 for 2 day delivery. I could've paid #20.49 for 4 to 5 day delivery. So what she's saying is, it's a way for the USPS to screw you out of extra money and it's probably not going to have any chance of being there in two days. Pretty much the same chance of you winning the lottery. They can just let it sit. In my case, they let it sit in the city I live in, for four days. Oh and they wont refund your money either. Mind you I've already had to send my customer an apology email and a $20 Gift Card for my shop because of this screw up by USPS. The destination is only about an hour or two drive from me, yet somehow the package (after about 5 days of having no update on the tracking) ended up nearly on the other side of the country and sat there with no movement for about another week. Flash forward to today, and it's finally in the *correct* state it should be in, but has been sitting THERE for 3 days now with no movement.
I don't know what's going on but I paid a good chunk of change for "1-3 Day Shipping" and I'd love to get at least some type of reimbursement. But at the same time I know USPS is a Federal entity so they don't necessarily have any incentive to provide good service (that's not a stab at them btw I'm just stating a fact)
