How to calculate international postage price for documents
International Shipping from the U.S.; is there anything besides USPS?
Use USPS for international shipping?
USPS rates are skyrocketing, soon.
How do I determine how many global forever stamps are needed for mailing paper documents internationally? For example, let's say I want to mail a 1.5 oz letter to Canada. Based on the chart, I would need $3.55 worth of postage. A global forever stamp is currently worth $1.65, so 2 stamps would be $3.30 (still insufficient), so I'd need 3 total.
But I read online that 1 stamp is sufficient for mailing a 1 oz letter anywhere in the world, and that seems to contradict what I'm seeing in this chart (since it shows that it costs $3.15 to mail a 1 oz letter to any country, and one stamp is currently only worth $1.65).
I thought that the current value of a global forever stamp equated to postage price, so my calculation method was to include enough stamps so that their total value (number of stamps times the current cost per stamp) would be greater than or equal to the value of the postage displayed in the chart. Am I mistaken in my calculation method?
