Cancelling Missing Mail Search Request
Not sure about that, but I did it. Deleted the old one and create a new missing mail search request. Hopefully that will “REALERT” them again and make them find my parcel. Mine was stuck since June 3rd 😑 More on reddit.com

Submitting a missing mail search is apparently the cheat code.
Just had an identical experience. Sat in one place for 8 days. I submit my missing mail search and all of a sudden it starts updating again More on reddit.com

Try Missing Mail Search!
According to Frank (my delivery driver for my mail who has worked for the post office over 40 years) it is just your package gets freed up and starts moving. It is not that the missing mail search actually does anything. The post office created this to give people PEACE OF MIND, and to have people quit going to them in person about this. I too originally filed a missing mail search, and over 2 weeks later nothing has changed. You would have to think of it this way. They handle tens of millions of pieces of mail daily. They are not putting their whole operation on hold to have all employees go searching for your mail according to Frank. I am glad it seems you are getting your packages as that is a good thing. r/usps_complaints on Reddit: Has anyone had success with a "Missing Mail Search" on USPS?
December 25, 2022 -

I had a fairly valuable priority mail flate rate bubble envelope shipped to me. The package was initially scanned in at a distribution center in NY. There were no updates for a week and I submitted a help request form.

USPS actually called me (which surprised me) and stated there has not been a physical scan for a while. She said I should file a "missing mail claim" and they she flagged the shipment. She continued that sometimes just flagging the package will have it moving again. I submitted the missing mail form last week, but there have not been any updates on it.

I have a small hobby business and ship USPS A LOT. I've had packages take a long time to be delivered, but I've never ran into a package having a single scan then never having an additional scan for multiple weeks. At this point, I'm wondering if I should keep patient or submit an insurance claim? There is insurance on the package, but the contents are sentimental as well as valuable and I'd rather have the package.

Has anyone submitted a Missing Mail Search with USPS and have it work? Additionally, if anyone has any input on filing an insurance claim, I'd be interested in that as well. Thanks!
