Gigabyte Gaming X DDR4 / Win 11 / F4

TPM 2.0 is set correctly and verified by tpm.msc

Secure boot is enabled in bios, but in windows it shows it is turned off. One other post 8 months ago had the same problem but no answer in the thread. Anyone got any advice? I followed a few videos/threads that all said the same thing, but it just isn't working even though it all shows correct in Bios.

TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK

I am just gonna paste what support guys have told me so that you don't need to e-mail them and get the same response or atleast be ahead of them a bit.

Hey there,

Thanks for reaching out ^ First of all, I'd like to thank you for your patience. I know that this type of issue can be frustrating and even more when you're trying to play a game you like.

This issue you're experiencing it's because of an incompatibility between an implementation in Vanguard (our anticheat feature) and Windows 11, which it's a version of Windows that we currently do not support. If you have TPM 2.0 or Secure Boot disabled, you're not going to be able to launch nor play VALORANT.

So to fix this issue please proceed with the steps below:

To enable secure boot:

Run Settings > Update & Security > Recovery and select Restart now under Advanced startup. From the next screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > UEFI Firmware Settings > Restart to make changes.

To enable TPM version 2.0 (please click the one corresponding to your manufacturer):

I will give the links to them below.(Asus MSI Dell HP (under "How do I enable TPM on my computer?") Lenovo Gigabyte)

NOTE: If you're manufacturer doesn't appear here, please Google it using your manufacturer as a keyword. Example: Asus TPM 2.0.

After doing this, try and see if you can launch/play VALORANT.

If you're not able to do so, most likely you will need to downgrade to Windows 10 but If you're still experiencing issues, please reach out again with the set of logs. You can gather logs by downloading our helpful tool - Riot Repair Tool. [Tool for Windows]

After you run the Riot Repair tool, a .zip file will be created on your desktop. Please attach this file to the support request so we can analyze the information and work on the solution for you.

UPDATE:

Many people are asking me for help. Guys, i really don't know how to solve this one. But I'll list somethings that helped me.

  1. Toggling secure boot enable/disable. I know it sounds redundant but even if u have secure boot turned on and tpm 2.0, try turning ot off and on idk how it works but it works sometimes.

  2. There are some "security keys" section in motherboards or atleast the one i had issue with had this. And whenever i cleared it, it worked. I changed my Laptop and now i don't have this issue but whenever i had this on my old one, i used to clear security keys and enable/disable the secure boot and it worked and stayed like that.

Please note that i do not know what i am doing and i just am listing random shit that just worked. So try these at your own risk.

July 19, 2022 -

So I got a pc back in march and wanted to get Valorant so I could play with my bf, but whenever I try to play the game a window ops up titled "VAN9001" that says "This build of Vangaurd requires TPM 2.0 and secure boot to be enabled in order to play". After digging around in settings and BIOS, I talked to a friend who plays Valo a lot and is pretty good with computer stuff they said it's probably because I have Windows 11, and I would have to downgrade to Windows 10, but my pc has never had 10 because it's new. So is this the case or is there another way to fix this.

Edit: I have already gone into BIOS and made sure TPM 2.0 and secure boot are enabled, but the same message still pops up

December 8, 2021 - For anyone looking at this thread later - TPM 2.0 is required to install windows 11, it will boot after installation with the TPM disabled. Secure boot is required for neither install or boot, but is apparently required by valorant.

I just upgraded to windows 11 and started to boot up all my games to see if everything was working fine. But when it came to valorant an error message popped up saying "This build of valorant requires TPM version 2.0 and secure boot to be enabled in order to play". I'm running on an ASUS TUF FX505DT if that helps. Edit: Have already enabled both of them but the problem persists. Edit2: Solved Already.

r/WindowsHelp on Reddit: ERROR Firmware TPM 2.0 enabled
November 6, 2025 -

Hey guys,

I’ve started getting this error out of the blue for the past two days when I open my game VALORANT

“Your account does not meet the following requirements in order to play: Firmware TPM 2.0 enabled Press OK to visit our support page for more information.”

I’ve looked up solutions and tried everything I could find. I accessed my BIOS and disabled CSM, enabled Secure Boot, and enabled PTT before saving and exiting. After restarting my PC, I checked TPM using tpm.msc, but it says: “Compatible TPM cannot be found.”

I went back into the BIOS to check the settings and noticed that PTT is automatically disabled again, even though Secure Boot remains enabled and CSM stays disabled. I’ve tried enabling PTT multiple times, but it keeps disabling itself.

I even uninstalled and reinstalled VANGUARD, but to no avail.

Some are saying I should update my BIOS but I’m worried I would break anything.

I don’t know what to do now. My system specs are: Windows 10 Pro B360M DS3H BIOS Version F12

December 3, 2021 -

I bought a prebuilt desktop from iBuyPower and it came with Windows 11. Everytime I try running Valorant, an error message pops up saying the anti cheat software Vanguard requires TPM Version 2.0.

I did research and entered "tpm.msc" and saw TPM was not enabled. So I went into gigabyte BIOS to enable TPM on Intel which was labeled as PTT. Also enabled Secure Boot and literally followed all the possible instructions I could find.

The error message still pops up and I can't downgrade to Windows 10 because the prebuilt software came with Windows 11.

Does this mean I need to install a TPM chip? I thought the motherboard already came with one? I am literally at a lost of options. I've ran Valorant in Compatibility mode, administrator mode, reinstalled Valorant multiple times. Anyone have any suggestions? Even when I enter "tpm.msc" now it shows that TPM 2.0 is enabled!

I recently got a new pc that runs on Gigabyte. If anybody can show me or send a guide my way on how to set it up so that it has TPM 2.0 and secure boot that’d be great. I’m currently on windows 11 and haven’t been able to find anything

Update: was able to update TPM and Secure boot thanks to the YouTube channel posted in the comments. I’ll be keeping this post up in case anybody else has the same error

I'm trying to activate both tpm2.0 and secure boot to be able to play valorant and league, at first the secure boot wasn't active while tpm yes, so I did convert the disk from MBR to gpt and I did disabble csm and activated secure boot by doing the custom settings and then resetting it back to normal, only thing is that my pc wouldn't boot until I tried to disable the tpm, at that point it would boot, but then valorant ask for tpm to be enable, but if I go back into bios and activate it windows won't boot up giving error it couldn't launch, even trying to disable secure boot and leaving on tpm would result in the same error, now it only let me get in windows if tpm is disable and secure boot on, I tried to activate both secure boot and tpm and installing windows 11 again, which it gives me the error you can see up in the image, the usb would only boot if I disable tpm but at that point it would say that the tpm is not enable and it won't let continue the installation, I did the new installation usb with media creation tool, my computer has a aorus b450 pro and Ryzen 5 2600x that on paper is compatible with windows 11 but it won't let me instal it even if all the requirements are enabled, someone knows how to solve? It's been more than 4 days I'm trying to troubleshoot this problem, thanks in advance
