Hello Gabriel,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community and I'll be glad to assist you today.

Valorant requires TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot to be enabled for the software to function.

According to the ASRock website, the particular model "ASRock 970M Pro3" was released in 2014 and no longer includes TPM encryption on the Motherboard.

To check your version of the TPM module, type tpm.msc in the run dialog box and click enter.

If UEFI and TPM 2.0 are not supported on your machine, you can disable VBS to keep playing VALORANT. (Only for Windows 10).

• For Windows 11 PCs you need TPM module 2.0 to play the game.

If you receive **Warning** With error VAN9005 when launching the game, see the support article (Step 3) to Disable VBS and play the game on your Windows 10 machine.

TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK

I am just gonna paste what support guys have told me so that you don't need to e-mail them and get the same response or atleast be ahead of them a bit.

Hey there,

Thanks for reaching out ^ First of all, I'd like to thank you for your patience. I know that this type of issue can be frustrating and even more when you're trying to play a game you like.

This issue you're experiencing it's because of an incompatibility between an implementation in Vanguard (our anticheat feature) and Windows 11, which it's a version of Windows that we currently do not support. If you have TPM 2.0 or Secure Boot disabled, you're not going to be able to launch nor play VALORANT.

So to fix this issue please proceed with the steps below:

To enable secure boot:

Run Settings > Update & Security > Recovery and select Restart now under Advanced startup. From the next screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > UEFI Firmware Settings > Restart to make changes.

To enable TPM version 2.0 (please click the one corresponding to your manufacturer):

I will give the links to them below.(Asus MSI Dell HP (under "How do I enable TPM on my computer?") Lenovo Gigabyte)

NOTE: If you're manufacturer doesn't appear here, please Google it using your manufacturer as a keyword. Example: Asus TPM 2.0.

After doing this, try and see if you can launch/play VALORANT.

If you're not able to do so, most likely you will need to downgrade to Windows 10 but If you're still experiencing issues, please reach out again with the set of logs. You can gather logs by downloading our helpful tool - Riot Repair Tool. [Tool for Windows]

After you run the Riot Repair tool, a .zip file will be created on your desktop. Please attach this file to the support request so we can analyze the information and work on the solution for you.

UPDATE:

Many people are asking me for help. Guys, i really don't know how to solve this one. But I'll list somethings that helped me.

  1. Toggling secure boot enable/disable. I know it sounds redundant but even if u have secure boot turned on and tpm 2.0, try turning ot off and on idk how it works but it works sometimes.

  2. There are some "security keys" section in motherboards or atleast the one i had issue with had this. And whenever i cleared it, it worked. I changed my Laptop and now i don't have this issue but whenever i had this on my old one, i used to clear security keys and enable/disable the secure boot and it worked and stayed like that.

Please note that i do not know what i am doing and i just am listing random shit that just worked. So try these at your own risk.

my tpm 2.0 and secure boot is enabled and i still cant launch my game
i had the same problem, i fixed. it was the secure boot which wasn't actually enabled. when i restore my default settings of key managment (secure boot), the system restore just the pk key and leave 0 value on the other 3 keys.. so windows doesn't recognize secure boot. I just figure it out by chance... i hope it can be useful to you. To see if secure boot and tpm are actually enabled on windows do as follow: open a power shell as administrator type: "get-tpm" to see if tpm is enabled type: "Confirm-SecureBootUEFI" to see if secure boot is enabled if both of them are actually enabled the game should work properly. Remeber, to enable secure boot you need to: disbale csm disbale fast boot enable secure boot as Windows UEFI restore default key managment values More on reddit.com
