ValueError and TypeError in python - Stack Overflow
I can't completely understand the difference between Type and Value error in Python3x. Why do we get a ValueError when I try float('string') instead of TypeError? shouldn't this give also a TypeE... More on stackoverflow.com

What's the difference between a TypeError and ValueError?
Just to make things clear. input("x: ") always returns a string. It can be "123" or "bananas". In the first case, it can be converted to an integer. In the second case, it cannot, and a ValueError is raised. But in either case the type is fine for the int function. So this is a value error, not a type error. More on reddit.com

To encounter a ValueError in Python means that is a problem with the content of the object you tried to assign the value to. This is not to be confused with types in Python. For instance, imagine you have a dog and you try to put it in a fish tank. This would be an example of a type error, ...

ValueError | Python’s Built-in Exceptions – Real Python
ValueError is a built-in exception that gets raised when a function or operation receives an argument of the correct type, but its actual value isn’t acceptable for the operation at hand, and no more specific exception, such as IndexError, describes the situation.

What is ValueError in Python & How to fix it
Python doesn't know which two variables we're looking for, therefore the value error informs us that we've made a mistake rather than presuming and giving us simply two values (which can destroy our program later if they're the incorrect values).

ValueError Exceptions In Python - GeeksforGeeks
July 1, 2026 - A ValueError occurs when a function receives an argument of the correct data type but with an invalid value. In other words, Python understands the type of the value provided, but the value itself is not suitable for the operation being performed.

How To Fix Valueerror Exceptions In Python - GeeksforGeeks
January 30, 2024 - Below, are the ways to solve the Valueerror Exceptions in Python ... Below, code attempts to convert a numeric value (`a`) and a non-numeric string (`b`) to floats using the `float()` function. A try-except block is used to catch a potential `ValueError` that may occur during the conversion of the non-numeric string. If such an error occurs, it prints a clear error message indicating the inability to convert the string to a float.

How to manage ValueError in Python | LabEx
If a ValueError is raised during the integer conversion, the first except block handles it. If a ZeroDivisionError is raised during the division operation, the second except block handles it. By handling multiple exceptions, you can provide a more robust and user-friendly error handling mechanism in your Python code.

Built-in Exceptions — Python 3.14.7 documentation
The built-in exceptions listed in this chapter can be generated by the interpreter or built-in functions. Except where mentioned, they have an “associated value” indicating the detailed cause of the error. This may be a string or a tuple of several items of information (e.g., an error code and a string explaining the code).
