Thanks for the review. I had just ordered one of these on a bit of a whim earlier. I had originally been deciding between the cheaper Autonomous or more expensive Jarvis. I really didn't want to pay more than ~$500 but was afraid of some of the Autonomous reviews, and couldn't pull the trigger on either after a couple of weeks of debating. I happened to see in another post here that this desk is available through Office Depot with a 30% off coupon - 63476940. So I was able to get it for ~$455 before tax, with estimated delivery 8/10, earlier than Autonomous or Jarvis were quoting. So it seemed like a higher quality desk for near Autonomous pricing (although not quite as big as the XL). I didn't do a ton of research on this one compared to the others before ordering, but hopefully made a good choice... This review helps. And hopefully the coupon may help others. More on reddit.com

I got the Vari standing desk (48x30) because I had heard it had the least amount of wobble. It’s my first standing desk so I don’t have much to compare it to. It has been a great desk and their support team has been fantastic (I bought a monitor arm that didn’t meet all my needs and had to return it). My only regret is that I didn’t get the 60x30. It seems that they get dinged in reviews for having less customization options but I’ll take near zero monitor wobble (I have dual 27” monitors) over different surfaces. If you’re using monitor arms, some arms can cause lots of wobble. A friend also got a Vari and has loved it as well. More on reddit.com

I would trust BTOD over Uplift but the difference is probably negligible. The commercial frame has a cross bar and does not go as high so just be aware of that. I was between these two as well. The price difference was never huge, but I did get it $100 off during a sale, which I suspect may happen soon during the holidays just so you know. Here is what I found better about Vari Better stability reviews, though it is probably neglegable The top is a bit thicker (1.25 inches compared to 1 inch for Uplift) I really liked the reclaimed wood laminate choice because it looks nice and will hide blemishes easily. However, Uplift has more choices (not reclaimed wood though). I was set on laminate since it is more durable and resistant to scratches. No grommet holes. This is a personal preference, but I don't like them. You can "try before you buy" at office depot. Just go in and check it out. I think they only stock the 30x48 version, but you can at least test it out. I thought it was really nice, looked good, stable enough, and was worried I would get the Uplift and be displeased compared to this, so that settled it. Here is what I found better about Uplift 10 or 15 year warranty (Vari is only 5). I can't remember if it was 10 or 15 though, but it was a lot better For some, it has a lot more customizability, but for me it was lacking a reclaimed wood finish that I liked. I think their replacement parts are easier to find, not sure, but worth considering. It won't matter much unless you are beyond warranty though. Edit: Uplift can also hold maybe 100 lbs more. Vari is more than sufficient for most people (~200), but not sure if you need it to hold bags of rocks or something... I did a pretty lengthy review of the Vari here a few months back you may want to check out. Just search my profile of this form and you should be able to find it. Another thing really nice about the Vari, which I didn't realize until later, was that it is really easy to assemble and disassemble compared to the others. This wouldn't really be a deciding point IMO, but worth noting. I kept my boxes and stuff because I was moving soon after and was able to disassemble it pretty easily, rebox it, and pack it for moving. Oh, and if you do get the Vari, I highly recommend getting the cable management tray. It isn't cheap (I don't recall how much), but it is nice and gets rid of cable hell. I just put my power strip in there and can use it to plug in my monitors, iphone charger, laptop charger, etc. Just be aware that it sits high and close to the back of the desk and will interfere with some bulky monitor arms. However, you can fix this by just getting really long screws and using those instead of the ones it comes with. See the top amazon review for how to do that. I don't have arms so moot point for me. In short, just weigh your priorities. You will probably be happy with either. Edit: Also, I have mine on furniture sliders I used while moving. Very useful for sliding it around if you need (Vari will not work with casters btw, not sure about uplift). It may help with stability on carpet too. Or it might make it less stable. lol.
