Are there velvet wedding guest dresses for plus sizes?
Are velvet dresses for winter?
How do I care for a velvet dress after the wedding?
Our wedding is (hopefully, as long as we all get vaccinated!) 12-4-2021. I just love the idea of velvet bridesmaid dresses for our winter wedding. I think they would look so beautiful with the winter backdrop, and we could get scarves or fur shawls as well. My color of choice is emerald green.
However, I'm a little nervous with picking this because I know it's bold. One of my bridesmaids is plus size and I don't know how she would feel about velvet, although Revelry has dresses up to 5XL and the plus size models on their website look beautiful. Still I just don't want to make her uncomfortable, as I know velvet is by nature more form fitting than chiffon or tulle.
I also have noticed that most velvet dresses are more fitted at the bottom. Has anyone ever worn a floor length velvet dress and had trouble walking/dancing later in the night?
Basically, I love the look and idea of velvet bridesmaid dresses but I'm not sure if functionally it will work. Anyone else had velvet for their bridesmaid dresses, or worn a velvet bridesmaid dress, and have any advice?
Hello everyone,
I'm attending a friend's wedding at the end of January (we are from France). It's obviously going to be cold ! There will first be a religious ceremony in a church, followed by an evening reception in a venue that we'll drive to. There is no dress code ! My goal is to stay elegant and not get too cold. I was thinking of wearing a velvet dress. Do you think it's too outdated ? Too formal or disrespectful for a church ? I'm not Catholic, so I don't want to make any mistakes ! Here's the dress I had in mind.
I plan to wear my everyday black fleece coat because I can’t afford to buy a coat just for the wedding, unfortunately. But I’ll take it off as soon as possible.
