If you are planning on being with them for the next 3-4 yrs, and expect to use the plans that they offer with this "free" phone, it's not a bad deal. But it's not free, either. If you plan on flashing a custom ROM for example down the line or even a simple act as unlocking the bootloader, forget about it. Can't be done on VZW devices. They're hardware locked

I'm trying to maximize the incentives available to me. Trading in a Pixel 6 Pro.
Looking at my options, if I purchase the Pixel 8 Pro through Verizon directly, they're offering $800 in credit for my Pixel 6 Pro (with a slight change to my monthly plan).
If I purchase the phone directly through the Google store, I am able to receive the Pixel Watch 2 for free. As for the trade-in of my Pixel 6 Pro, I can choose to do this through Google or through Verizon. If I do it through Google, they're offering a $400 credit. If I choose to do it through Verizon, it does not immediately tell me the value of the trade-in and shows me these terms - showing that I am eligible for $800 in credit (with the correct Verizon plan). Under the "How it works" section of the trade-in terms, it explains how to go about making the trade directly with Verizon.
Has anyone done their order through Google and trade-in with Verizon? If so, did you receive a confirmation email/instructions for the trade-in?
I'm trying to double-dip on the promos to get the maximum off the phone cost and the watch if possible, but don't want to shoot myself in the foot by getting caught in some technicality and get much less than promised for my trade-in.

I just did the same thing, only with my Pixel 6. After checkout there was no confirmation or direction from Verizon. I went to Verizon com/tradein and it said that my phone was only valued at $86. Chatted with a Verizon representative and was told to proceed with that offer and they will adjust the bill credits after receiving the phone. I can't say I'm 100% sure this will go through easily...
