Point 1: Tensorflow is on life support. Even Google is abandoning the sinking ship and jumping to Jax. TF API is terrible, and has been discussed over years. The usage numbers don't lie.
Point 2: Maybe you might have noticed, there's an AI boom, and GCP has Vertex, the AI cloud platform. But it's new, unstable, and examples are provided in Tensorflow (and sometimes Pytorch).
Proposition: Google, please just admit that TF is dead. Start making Vertex and GCP more usable with real Pytorch examples and 1st class TPU support that makes writing Pytorch code on TPUs as easy as on GPUs. This way, more people use GCP and Vertex, and the community benefits from better examples, documentation, and library support from Google. Stop wasting employee resources on TF, there is a real opportunity cost to doing so. In 2024, no real company (academic or industrial) would start a new project with Tensorflow.

They use it internally and there are projects built on it. So realistically it would at a minimum need to run in parallel As much as Google loves rug pulling random products & projects I don't think it's viable for something this central.
