Hi,
I have attended dozens of open homes for apartments in the past year and at every single one I have used my phone to take a video of the property. Most of the other people at the open homes have done the same.
But now we come to today. Today I attended an open home for an apartment. When I started to record, the REA told me to stop. I went back and forth with him on it, telling him that in my experience, filming an open home was completely normal and OK. He argument was that the tenant (not the landlord) did not want anyone recording, hence I was not allowed to record.
Question: do I not have a right to film a property I am potentially going to drop my life savings on?
I kind of lost it with him and left. It's just that I have been lied to and cheated by REAs many times, so I don't believe anything they tell me.
Edit:
why are people downvoting this? Given my past experience, it's totally understandable that I thought the REA was lying. I also did stop recording when told to stop. There's nothing wrong with questioning something.
