We are planning on building soon and I am trying to find some plans from the 60s - 70s. Where is the best place to find those? I found a couple of books on eBay I thought about ordering. But, thought I could reach out here and see if anyone knew of somewhere better.
Hello everyone,
I’m starting the process of building my own mid century dream home. Got the land, waiting on a meeting with a few residential designers. Meanwhile I thought I’d seek out this subreddits favorite floor plans, and overall design aesthetics! Post the practical , the impractical, or honestly anything.
Thanks!
Mods sorry if this isn’t formatted correctly, I’m on mobile.
My favorite thing about my mid-century ranch is that it has very defined rooms, but still a feeling of flow and airiness.
I love that mid century homes manage to feel open but not turn into a modern warehouse vibe.
Thought I’d start with my biggest inspiration so far, good ol’ C1092 https://i.imgur.com/053kTxR.jpg
This home was custom built in the late 1960s. I’ve lived here since 2005. I think the use of a central plumbing stack was a good use of space. I do feel that there are too many windows. For example, I would prefer more cabinet space in the kitchen over the double set of sliding glass doors. We did update the primary bathroom to have a larger walk-in shower.
