Exterior & Interior Design/Layout for 60s Southern Mid-Century ranch?
Walking into the home, you have no sort of indication that you are at the entrance to the home, as you are forced to walk directly into the kitchen which seems to double as the dining room. Being the house was built in the 1960's I am not exactly sure what has changed over time. The shaded portions of the floor plan is the current cabinets, and refrigerator(which blocks a portion of bedroom 2's door).

1960's Bi-levels - Fine Homebuilding
March 12, 2008 - Since the hips are low with brick walls underneath them with bad windows in them placed badly the house has no real strength to it. I think gable ends would make the house look bigger and give it more life. I'm not sure how to pull it off. I wouldn't want two gable ends the same size on both sides of the house.

r/floorplan on Reddit: I thought this sun might like the plans for my 1960s multilevel home.
July 28, 2023 -

This home was custom built in the late 1960s. I’ve lived here since 2005. I think the use of a central plumbing stack was a good use of space. I do feel that there are too many windows. For example, I would prefer more cabinet space in the kitchen over the double set of sliding glass doors. We did update the primary bathroom to have a larger walk-in shower.
