Honestly you’re going to have your best luck searching on Etsy under the era you’re interested in and the term “menswear” and going from there. There are way too many sellers out there for anyone to provide you with a comprehensive list of them; particularly given that no one knows your exact tastes and the exact aesthetic you’re looking for. You might also find yourself branching into the aesthetic of overlapping eras; the forties, the sixties, and even portions of the thirties all have pieces that could be mixed and matched for a cohesive look. It depends on your personal tastes. Frankly, there’s no easy or cheap way to completely source a vintage wardrobe. You’re going to have to be willing to peruse pages of Etsy, EBay, Facebook marketplace, and even estate sales. You have to be patient, you have to look for quality, and often you will have to pay for quality. Things that are true vintage and in good to excellent condition will not be cheap simply because they are not easily sourced and they have aesthetic and historical value. If price is a concern to you my suggestion would be starting with some vintage reproduction like Some Like It Holy. They are still priced higher than your average target or mall clothing but they are certain to last you longer than true vintage clothing you will pay a comparable price for and not have the familiarity of upkeep with, for example. Overall, I think you need to do some research about your preferred aesthetic and places that cater to that aesthetic from both a modern reproduction and true vintage standpoint. Browse Etsy, browse eBay, browse Poshmark, hit up estate sales, and start familiarizing yourself with what to look for, how to care for and store vintage clothing, and go from there. It’s not a quick process. It’s slow sourcing and it takes a lot of time and a keen eye to become adept at this time of purchasing and the proper care of those purchases. 1940-1950s working class mans wardrobe
Hello everyone my name is Stephen and I hope you'll forgive me if this is in the wrong section. I am trying to round out my wardrobe and I would like to make in the style or at least the "feeling" of a working class mans wardrobe from around 1940-1950. I am rather broke being college age so I do... More on thefedoralounge.com
50s-60s Style T-Shirts?
I've been looking for tees that fit like the ones men used to wear between the 40s and 60s. Specifically, shorter sleeves, slimmer cut and hip length. I find that most if not all modern t-shirts have a fit that is designed to fit the largestt possible amount of people at once, and so it flatters... More on styleforum.net
To Vintage Re-sellers Of 1920's - 1950's MENS Clothing.
As a seller of primarily vintage women's clothing, I'd say there aren't ANY consistent places to find vintage garments that age. One reason is because there are very few people still alive from that era these days (according to this chart, the 80+ male population in the usa was 3% as of 2022). My guess would be that the resellers you are referring to may have much narrower margins than you do and are buying from other resellers before making a modest markup. I will sometimes buy things I know I won't make much profit on simply because I love it. They may be doing the same, possibly just to boost their reputation on selling platforms as the go-to for vintage clothing. More on reddit.com

Personally, I’m a big fan of double-breasted overcoats because, when it’s cold outside, you want that double overlapping layer of cloth because that keeps you warm. Another popular overcoat seen in the ’50s was the Ulster, as well as the Paletot overcoat. Last but not least, let’s look at the 1950s accessories. Belts were a lot more popular than suspenders. Also, woven leather belts were just interesting colors and changes were something that men would wear at the time.

If you are, or know an eBay/Etsy seller I can get a link to, you can PM it, or put it in the comments, whichever. I don't want terribly expensive crap, either. Is it possible to make this my entire wardrobe, as well? I want casual stuff, and business attire. I already hit Goodwill's and and antique stores, and have little luck, at least in my area. Can I have any help on this?

You can try Depop too! Might have to dig, like any thrifting, but you can find some good vintage pieces, if you look. Price will reflect condition. Like the other person said- don’t expect to build a whole new wardrobe in one trip. Be intentional. Frequent goodwills, local thrifts, and estate sales to try your luck! Estate sales will post general pics online, so you can see if any clothes stand out to you, before you make the trip.

September 17, 2020 - As stated, depends on the job, the location and country. Lots of second hand clothing was worn. Old suits worn to some roles, sometimes with overalls on top. Often men wore Sunday clothing as work clothes once they were too worn looking to wear to church.
