Belmont Army Vintage. Elliot Consignment has 2 shops in Lakeview and Lincoln Park. Brown Elephant has additional shops at Belmont/Clark and Lincoln/Wellington. Buffalo Exchange has shops in Wicker and Andersonville. There’s multiple antique shops along Belmont between like Western and Ashland including Good Old Days and Lazy Dog. 2nd Street is a chain with a few locations including Lincoln Park, Wicker, and Andersonville. Ok, so if you want a full thrift experience, you can go to 3 places in Herndon: Faith (serving more of a middle eastern clientele, but with western clothes as well); The Closet, which I believe supports a women’s shelter and women/kids who need extra assistance, and FISH (aka The Bargain Loft). FISH stands for “ friendly, instant, sympathetic help”. But while you are at FISH, don’t forget to check out the ReStore in the same complex for more of your furniture needs. There is also Roaches in the Attic as an antique store. Not been there lately so will let others mention their experience. If you want a broader/larger thrift store, cruise on out to Fair Oaks to the “Savers”, which is an off shoot of the Unique stores. Donate anything there and get a 20% off coupon for an in store purchase. They have a wide variety of items. if you want that experience but LARGER, go into Merrifield to the Unique store there, the 20% still applies with any donation. If you want to go into Leesburg, there are multiple opportunities there, some have shorter opening times. Let me know and I can give you actual names/places. Enjoy! More on reddit.com

I've put together a google map of all the thrift, antique, and resale shops in and around Chicago that I've found -- I haven't gotten a chance to visit them all, especially not the chains, but I've double checked that as of today these all exist and are open regularly.
I'm happy to include things like flea markets that are only open a day or two each week (or even month) but I don't want to include once-a-year events like big neighborhood garage sales (at least not on this map!) but I'm sure I'm missing places not in my neighborhood.
