(WHSV) - It’s a historic election season in Virginia: for the first time, commonwealth voters are set to elect a woman as governor on Nov. 4. With just weeks remaining until the ballots are counted, only one question remains: Will Virginians elevate Republican Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears to the top job, or will Democrat Abigail Spanberger be handed the keys to the executive mansion? A former CIA agent, federal law enforcement officer and three-term member in the U.S. House of Representatives for Virginia’s seventh congressional district, the Democratic candidate in this year’s gubernatorial matchup is no stranger to public service.
