If you don't want to deal with KYC and privacy is your top priority, I would recommend you to use a crypto VCC. I'm personally using a service recommended by Tokyniq, their website is always comparing and testing several providers to identify the best one. So far, no KYC was asked and I'm successfully using it for online payments. Feel free to do your own research, but in my experience, it's working fine. Answer from Solana_Chief on reddit.com

r/privacy on Reddit: a virtual credit card that requires no ID
February 27, 2020 -

I know crypto is one of the good ways to pay for something online while relatively staying anonymous but majority of shops hasnt caught and still use credit cards to pay.

I used to have a virtual credit card that doesnt require anything aside from a phone number which is great for anonymity but recently my country introduced a rule(?) that users need to take a selfie with a government issue ID to be verified and continue using said VCC.

Now I'm looking for a virtual credit card that doesnt require any ID or any verification. If anyone has suggestions or anything please do let me know. thanks.

Edit/Addition: My reason for asking this is theres a game where I want to buy some IAPs and requires credit card to be used. In addition, it's country of origin is kinda known for collecting data and I really don't want to give them my own Credit card info.

October 12, 2023 - The only solution I can think of is the prepaid cards that act like debits but once they run out of money they are useless, these can be bought at retail stores or banks depending on your location. ... Yes correct. All digital money handlers use some form of KYC/AML thing to verify it's you. But if OP is a dedicated fraudster, they know how to fake passports, do deepfakes for the 'selfie' upon signup etc ... depends how ur paying, i guess u could buy a visa giftcard without id verif but most sites have high fees

I'm looking for a virtual card issuer that doesn't ask for ID verification, as I wish to ditch PayPal for good, so that all my online purchases will be through that vCard from now on.

I don't understand why Revolut, TransferWise (etc.) need an ID. PayPal doesn't and it essentially does the exact same thing. (i.e., use a verified bank account/card to buy products/services). What makes Revolut/TW/etc any different asking you to verify your ID? (Or what makes PayPal not needing you to verify an ID?)

Why a simple bank account/card verification is not enough for Revolut/TW/etc?

Whenever I am asked to prove my identity using my cell number when it comes to financial applications I am always rejected as they cannot use my US Mobile telephone number. This usually results in them asking if I have an alternative number I can use.

The number was ported in from red pocket and has always been on the Verizon MVNO network. Same now with US mobile. It has never been a VOIP number and has never been recognized as VOIP, but it fails when credit agencies do these checks.

Is there any way I can get this looked into? or do other people have the same issue with USMobile?

Is there any (EU) service that provides virtual/disposable cards but also doesn't require ID? I've been using Revolut however wouldn't mind moving away due to the mandatory ID.

If you know of any let me know, thanks.

Edit: If this isn't possible, what is the most privacy respecting service? I Just tried to make a fresh Revolut account and they want me to record a video of myself speaking, as well as ID.

r/AusFinance on Reddit: Single Use/Virtual Debit Cards without needing Driver's License or Passport?
January 9, 2023 -

In the wake of the data breaches that occured in 2022, I'm looking for single-use virtual debit cards to use for online shopping that doesn't have/accept Paypal/Afterpay etc.

I've looked at both Wise and Revolut, however they both want either a Driver's license or Passport to be uploaded. Of which I'm not comfortable just handing that out to random companies. Sadly privacy.com still doesn't offer servivce to Australia, and CommBank only offers virtual cards to business clients.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Just buy a auspost visa giftcard for $5 and top up the giftcard at the post office using cash or card.

Single Use/Virtual Debit Cards without needing Driver's License or Passport? Not going to happen, these platforms are a financial service and are regulated if you don't want to provide ID you have to move to the gift card platforms. But at some point that may come back to hurt you as well. I've looked at both Wise and Revolut, however they both want either a Driver's license or Passport to be uploaded. Of which I'm not comfortable just handing that out to random companies. They're obligated under the law to KYC and while they're both not licensed here directly as banks they do have financial services licences and a welder stab list companies. You should be aware both of these platforms use a third-party service to verify you on device. Sadly privacy.com still doesn't offer servivce to Australia If they were to operate here in Australia they would have to follow KYC just like they do in the countries they operate now. and CommBank only offers virtual cards to business clients. Most of the providers offering this is a service here in Australia targeting business and expense management. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. As someone that heavily tracks this in a spreadsheet you've pretty much mentioned everyone here in Australia that offers this to consumers. If you don't want to be KYCed the only option is the gift card type you can't even purchase the reloadable ones because they're technically and considered a financial service at that point and will require KYC.

I want to buy a subscription from a cybersecurity vendor but I don't want to give said vendor my name or address.

I watched this video and came across private.com.

[STOP Using Your Real Credit Card Number! (5 alternatives)] (From youtuber “All Things Secured”)]

I know Louis Rossman uses it too.

When I attempted to sign up it asked me for the last 4 digits of my social. I didn't know it needed it, so it took me aback. When I filled out the info it said it couldn't verify me and asked for my full social. Red flag for me, the last 4 are the only ones that are needed as the rest can be found depending on where you were born.

Also this video suggests that they plan on doing a soft credit check. (I dont like that) (6.50)

[FREE Security Tools EVERYONE Should Use (From youtuber “All Things Secured”)]

I had also seen usunlocked but they want Id. They may want ID because they are technically a bank and as mentioned in the vid they implement kyc. Apparently Ironboots didn't but changed their outlook. Seems like they are pushing for kyc as well and their card service is currently unavailable.

Is there any service where I can pay for a DEBIT reusable prepaid card? I'd prefer not to get into the death trap of just giving more info to be denied. Private holds data for 6 years. Last 4 digits for an account I've had for less than 5 hours is insane but I digress. I'm mostly prioritizing the vendor not getting my real name and address (ideally the card gets accepted too and not declined for fraud or some bs). I'm kinda open to giving Private.com my social, but nothing more. So I just wanted to make sure…

Is there anything that exists, that's practically a reusable prepaid card or am I looking for a unicorn? I'm just confused as to why there isn't a bigger market for this kind of stuff. (The only reliable way i've seen is registering a business and making purchases under the business)

r/CreditCards on Reddit: What Banks Or Services Let You Create A Virtual Credit Card Number (I Don't Mean Virtual Wallets) - One That Can Be Used Anywhere Online?
October 23, 2021 -

I'm making this post to gather and share more information on virtual credit cards, because googling for this has been a huge challenge due to all the results geared toward virtual wallets and mobile wallets, like Google Pay, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, etc.

I'm specifically interested in creating full virtual credit card numbers for my accounts. When I say "virtual credit card", I mean an actual card number, expiration date, and security code, that can be used anywhere online just like the credit card it's tied to, not just on websites with a "Pay with Apple Pay!" button. The main reason for this is not having to deal with replacing a card if the information gets stolen. You just log into the bank/service that issued the virtual card and cancel it. Your original card is 100% unaffected. Putting it in computer terms, a virtual card for your real card is like a proxy or VPN for your internet.

Here's the information I've found so far: (Updating as I find more and as information is posted in this thread)

  • Google Pay does not let you create virtual card numbers. It does create virtual card numbers internally, which are used when you use tap to pay or pay online through Google pay, but you can't take that virtual card number out to use it on a website like a real credit card

  • It doesn't look like Apple Pay and Samsung Pay allow you to create virtual credit cards either, but I haven't verified this.

  • No virtual card numbers: Bank of America, Fidelity

  • Virtual card numbers only on corporate cards (not business cards; corporate only): Chase, American Express

  • Capital One does let you create virtual card numbers but the system for doing it sounds annoying - you have to go through their AI assistant and use a browser extension.

  • PayPal Key is a virtual card that represents your PayPal wallet. PPK gives you a virtual credit card number, expiration date, and security code (which can be updated at any time) and can be used with any credit card or bank account in your PayPal wallet. This is probably the most versatile since it can be used with any credit or debit card. Not sure if you can only get one virtual account number or if you can get a new number (ie for new merchants). Also it's a new service so it isn't fully available yet as of October 2021, only a portion of PayPal users have access so far.

  • Citi is the most accessible for virtual credit cards at the moment. You get a virtual credit card number, an expiration date, and a security code. To get a virtual card number with Citi, you just log into your account, click the card you want a virtual card for, click "Virtual Account Number" and follow the steps. You can set the expiration date and daily spend limit. It looks like you can create multiple card numbers as well, if you want to have eg one per merchant (not sure how many you're limited to). Very nice system, bravo to Citi on this.

Does anyone know of other banks or services that issue actual virtual card numbers (ie not just a mobile wallet that only works on websites that support that mobile wallet)? Or any corrections to the information above?

March 8, 2024 -

Hello! I've seen this post before through searching this sub but just in case anything has changed, I'd like to ask. Plus some posts I saw didn't have many comments.

Is anyone aware of any specific credit cards that give a digital number on approval? I'm not talking about digital wallet but rather the actual number? Or is anyone aware of any credit cards that typically arrive in a week or less (that is not an expedited Chase card)? I've heard Amex sometimes does it but my spouse and I currently don't have any Amex cards so I'm not sure it makes a difference or not in this scenario!

Thank you

r/privacy on Reddit: Best Service for Virtual Credit Cards?
April 17, 2025 -

Here are the requirements:

  1. Need to be able to use an alias on the card (i.e. no limitation to real name)

  2. Must be able to fund the account via credit card OR bank ACH after microdeposit verification (i.e. no Plaid or similar shit service)

  3. Must exist outside of a phone app (i.e., I won't install garbage into my phone)

Here's what I considered:

  1. Site not to be named - the usual recommendation; it requires Plaid or a debit card to fund the account. I have no debit card and refuse to use Plaid, so no go

  2. IronVest - their virtual card capability apparently was deactivated "temporarily" like 2 years ago

  3. MySudo - requires a phone app, pass

  4. Crypto.com - requires a phone app, pass

  5. Revolut - apparently new accounts are not currently available to US citizens from what I can tell

  6. Transferwise - uses real name; think they moved over to shit Plaid too

Does what I'm looking for exist, or should I just get a debit card and then begrudgingly give into the site that isn't allowed to be named?
