Virtual reality

AR, I think, has a much higher likelihood of sticking around. It’s not really there yet, but it’s only a matter of time. It’s just too important to conveniently be able to transition to and from reality (or simultaneously experience both). So even though I’m a fan of VR and have a couple of headsets, I think it’s going to remain niche or be replaced entirely by quality AR. More on reddit.com

At the end of the day I think the largest hurdle for VR gaming is honestly a little laziness. And I don't mean that as as insult to the player, I think it's a valid issue from the player. Every time I play my VR headset it's just kind of a pain in the ass. I have to clear my room, get the thing on, fiddle with it, kinda stress it's not at optimal clarity, feel my brow against the glass, fiddle with it again, now my breath is fogging it, fiddle again, and then stand or sit there trapped in isolation for at least an hour if it's going to make it worth the hassle. Then at some point I want to drink water, but then I'm going to have to take the whole thing off. If there's a slow opening of a game the novelty wears off quickly and I feel kinda trapped waiting to play as I deal with cutscenes. You're so locked in that it makes the boring parts even more boring. There are a lot of issues from price to library, but really despite having a headset and a lot of games the things just a bitch to find the time to play for the average person. More on reddit.com

VR is cool, until you realise you already listed like half of the good games available on it. Year by year passes and I see less and less prominent VR releases, people dont buy VR sets cos of limited library and devs dont release VR games cos if low return on investment I see more VR headsets in used electronics stores on a weekly basis than know people who own one More on reddit.com
