I got this Visa giftcard for christmas but i have absoultly no clue how to make it work online. I was hoping to use it to buy stuff off a video game but when i called the number on the back and asked about using it on the internet they said i would need to use the pin i set up with it. However i have no clue how i would use that when there are no options online. If anyone has any idea how to help its much appreciated.

For it to work online, you need to set the zip code. Some Visa gift cards, in particular Vanilla, no longer offer that ability. Basically, mostly usable in person. Visit the gift card's website and register the card. If you're able to, then you may be able to set the zip code. Assuming you're able to set the zip code, still might not work if the biller matches name too. In that case, use Gift Card or some variant for the name when checking out. Might work. If the biller also matches street address, probably out of luck. Few, if any, open loop (Visa / Mastercard) gift cards allow updating address anymore. Easier yet, use it in person at the supermarket or big box store. May be able to buy store and game gift cards that way. Or to reiterate, just buy stuff in person you normally would anyways. Then use the money you've saved to buy stuff online with an existing card you have.

There should be a website on the rear of the card that helps you to setup the card for online use. You will need to put quite a bit of personal info so be aware of that. If it’s not on the card it could be on the package the card came with.

First of all, sorry if this is the wrong sub. I looked around and saw some people asking similar question here.

So I have this Visa gift card, which is at full balance, but it's not letting me make purchases online (Amazon). I used other gift cards before, so I know it should work. I registered the card online with my address, I also called the number on the card to update the 4-digit pin. However, it's still not working and header on the prepaidgiftbalance.com still says "Please update your 4-digit PIN code used for debit transactions by calling the number on the back of your card".

This worked fine before, so I don't know what's wrong.
