Is Mint Mobile good?
Mint Mobile really is quite good, as far as MVNOs go. It’s not too expensive, and it offers several different plan options with various data allotments.
How do I switch to Mint Mobile?
You can switch to Mint Mobile by first checking whether the provider has coverage in your area and your phone is compatible. Then you can choose a plan and SIM card and make the switch.
For those in the US…
I am currently using Verizon for mobile. I know I am overpaying but I’ve been with them for decades and I’ve never wanted issues with service. I’m at the point where the price doesn’t make sense, there are viable other options and I need some opinions based on experience.
Visible seems to make sense because of my current service (plus I have Verizon for internet so there is a discount), but I had a bad experience trying to use their trial (didn’t work) and the customer service after (non existent) and now I’m worried to make the move.
Mint Mobile was easy to use the trial, but I’d be giving up discounts on home service, and I’m torn on whether this is the best frugal choice.
So for those who have strong feelings about one or the other, can you share those? Hoping some personal experiences can help me decide what to do. Thanks!
Right now I’ve tried both the visible and mint mobile free trial and both are pretty fast and cheap. They also have a huge bump in my data plan so overall I don’t mind which I pick at the end (current plan 250mb on Lyca 😭). How does visible stand when you’re on a road trip because my family does that a lot and I need solid service for that. Otherwise I’ll prob go with mint mobile for the first three months then visible. I’m in the dmv area if that helps lol. Also any other recommendations for a plan is fine too. Edit: drive to dentist - fast and solid data, drive to doctors office - no data most of the time and 2 bars max when I was at the office (3pm), driving around the city - solid data all around
