Ive just used it for a day, ut Im happy to say intellisense works much better. So far, not a single "unable to obtain mapped memory" killing intellisense. It still doesnt suggest #including files for types that are forward declared only though (although it would be very easy for them to implement) More on reddit.com

You know that sinking feeling when lag interrupts your flow? We’ve worked hard to make that a thing of the past. Blazing-fast performance means startup is significantly snappier, and the UI responds so smoothly you’ll barely notice it’s there, cutting hangs by over 50% and giving the IDE a lightweight, effortless vibe, even on massive projects. Whether you’re wrangling enterprise-scale repos or tinkering on smaller codebases, this sets a new bar for getting stuff done. Instinctive repulsion reading this. More on reddit.com

Visual Studio 2026 First Look: Evolution, Not Revolution - The New Stack
November 15, 2025 - Before I changed to the Unity Project pane, I asked Copilot: “How do I set dark mode?” It gave plenty of answers. In a trice, we were good. New files were loaded into the editor fairly rapidly after selecting.

September 9, 2025 - Might even be needed after "disabling" the AI features, because who trusts that that actually works .. ... Umm... okay ... Hey folks, I'm the performance architect on Visual Studio. You can blame me for that statement as I came up with the numbers. Here's the reality; Visual Studio 2026 minimum and recommended requirements are the same as 2022 and 2019, but will perform significantly better on the same hardware. The new version uses less resources, and make better use of the available resources when needed.

September 12, 2025 - This thing is one of the coolest features they added. What is interesting is that you can use it in Visual Studio 2022 also, if you don’t want to try out the new version (or if you encounter an ugly bug and for some feature you want to go back to the old IDE), and to enable it you need v17.15 preview 3 at least and go to: Tools -> Options -> GitHub -> Copilot -> Enable Adaptive Paste.
