Hello everyone!
I switched to VS2026, but my daily-driver theme One Dark Pro wasn’t working correctly anymore — some colors were broken and the new UI didn’t match the original look.
So I decided to fix it myself, and now I’m releasing it. :)
One Dark Pro 2026 is a lightly updated and corrected version of the classic theme, adapted specifically for the VS2026 color engine. Same aesthetic, but with proper contrast, fixed keys, and better consistency across the new UI.
I also included a simple VSIX build script, so you can edit the YAML and rebuild your own customized version easily.

Does anyone recommend a specific Dark theme for vs2026 for c#/asp.net/blazor.
I'm not finding a lot of great choices for the VS space as compared to vscode.
Color themes in VS seems to be very stale and too dark. I want something vibrant lool. Not much freedom in VS as compared to vscode.

I know it's early, but I couldn't find any information on that topic. I am trying to adjust the theme I am using for the new Fluent UI. I cannot find any resources on that and all the tools like VSIX Color Editor - Visual Studio (Windows) | Microsoft Learn or Visual Studio 2015 Color Theme Editor - Visual Studio Marketplace
don't work with VS2026...
please can anyone tell me how to change the code tab theme ? when i change the theme it only effects other stuff but not the actual code unlike visual studio 2022
Sharing my experience with Visual Studio 2026 after one hour of usage:
I didn’t really feel like I was using a mature IDE — it feels more like something designed for kids to play with.
The overall design is uncomfortable compared to Visual Studio 2022.
And oh, the blue color! They removed my favorite theme and replaced it with nonsensical colors that strain your eyes after just a short time. Even the dark mode doesn’t make sense. I really don’t understand what happened with the theming — and it seems I’m not alone, as many people are complaining about the new look and color scheme.
Based on these concerns, I’d rather stick with Visual Studio 2022 than use what feels like a toy.
A true dark theme optimized for OLED screens. This reduces the light in your eyes and might be helpful for eye strain.

It's been a long time coming and now it's finally here
As title says, "What's your favorite custom theme for Visual studio". Just wanted to try different themes 😁
Have you guys already switched to VS2026, or are you waiting for the full release? Is it worth it to already switch or are there still some breaking issues?
I’m somebody that likes good highlighting, but I’m also indecisive on colour-schemes, I’ve tried many but looking for some new ones..
What’s everyone’s favourite Theme for their chosen language?
I expected fundamentally better user experience about vs2026, but it feels like it's the same slow thing with some rounded corners and different icons.
Hi, im a begginer in c++, currently im learning c++ in UDEMY with vs2022 (my course is in vs2022) but i just realize that vs2026 is available, my question is... should i buy another course to focus in this New versión or should i still learning in that course of vs2022?
