I have Direct TV satellite and Spectrum ground cable. I replaced the bedroom 32 inch Samsung with a 40 inch Vizio, from Best Buy. It has 4 HDMI ports and ONE port for regular co-ax cable connector. I connect Spectrum using HDMI port and Direct using co-ax cable. I could not make this new TV show anything on Direct TV, except NO SIGNAL.

I just unboxed a new Vizio Smart cast tv. It shows my network on the screen ,but will not connect to it. I have other Roku TV's, tablets cellphones that connect to it without any problem.
The Vizio will show my hotspot on my phone and connect to it wireless no problem. The wifi router and my phone use the same provider which is at&t.
Anyone have some kind of answer for me?

Total blind shot.... Did you input the wifi password into the TV? Beware, updates have been murder, best to stick with your Roku. It will update when connected to the phone as well.

I have had mine for 1 month now. I have had a problem with it every time I have turned it on. Whether it be a black screen or smartcast not working once while ive had the tv, its just awful! Cant believe you can make tvs this bad. Few days ago, my tv went black and thats it. The backlight didnt go out and nothing was wrong. It just decided to stop working. Super disappointed with these pieces of garbage.

They are junk. I'm sitting here right now plugging it in and out and all the things you have to do to get it to come on because evidently just pressing the power button would be too easy. I have to jump through hoops to get it to do anything then when it is on GOOD LUCK trying to link, connect, or use any kind of "free tv" garbage with the terrible system that you have to guess what channel your on. It's garbage. Anyone praising them is probably a bot or a Walmart employee.

I have a Firestick and realized my Vizio was intermittently powering off and on when I was trying to control my television using the T.V.’s remote or buttons and not the firestick remote. I also tape off the I.R. sensor on the firestick remote or move it so the T.V.’s I.R. sensor doesn’t detect the remote. Problem solved. I don’t know if you’ve got a Firestick or not, but this is how I solved my issue. · I found the answer in this ifixit post: TV randomly turns on and off repeatedly

I have a 43 inch D series, great picture, good tv but the Smartcast sucks on it. Have to reboot it every once in a while to get it to work.
