@thkeith3rd this sounds like either a power board issue or a backlight array issue. Either way you would have to take it apart and take a closer look at the board. Make sure that there are no leaking, domed looking capacitors or any other obviously damaged components. Make sure that all cables are properly seated by removing them and the reseat. Check to make sure that there are no broken pins etc. on those contacts. after that you need a multimeter to measure the output on the different connectors and validate their values against those on the boards. Main issue I'd check is the connection of the LED's to the power board etc. Answer from oldturkey03 on ifixit.com

August 8, 2019 -
For the last few weeks, I've had issues with my Smart TV where I turn it on with the remote and the power indicator light on the lower left corner will blink non-stop. So I'll immediately turn it back off, give it a few seconds, and turn it back on. I've also been having problems with needing to do a power cycle 1-2 times per week because it acts up, saying it's connected to wifi but wont connect to anything. I just got this TV for Christmas this past year. Is it normal for Vizios to do this or should I look into replacing it?

I've tried three things that can fix some problems. Try them one at a time, then check before trying the next thing. Turn it on, then unplug it for 30 seconds. Turn it on, unplug it and hold the power button for 30 seconds, and plug it back in while still holding the power button. Do a factory reset through the settings. If none of those work, you may need physical repairs.

March 17, 2020 - They said it would cost me $100 if they sent out a Geek techie,...OR I could have another 40 inch Vizio, in the new sealed box. I connected the new one, with same results! I tried it with my two other Direct TV receivers, with same results. I replaced the co-ax cables, with same results,...NO SIGNAL. I connected, one by one, ALL my other TVs, total of five. They all receive Direct TV just fine. Is this model Vizio simply not compatible with Direct TV signal?

If you have a corrupted flash drive in the usb port it will continue to power on and off. Remove your flash drive from the usb port and your television will work again immediately.

I have a Firestick and realized my Vizio was intermittently powering off and on when I was trying to control my television using the T.V.’s remote or buttons and not the firestick remote. I also tape off the I.R. sensor on the firestick remote or move it so the T.V.’s I.R. sensor doesn’t detect the remote. Problem solved. I don’t know if you’ve got a Firestick or not, but this is how I solved my issue. · I found the answer in this ifixit post: TV randomly turns on and off repeatedly

Under Settings you will see CEC Settings. Turn off the CEC Function. This will be the root cause off the problem for many people as one of the connected devices is sending an improper CEC signal and causing the TV to turn off.
