Hi, you may have seen my posts before. I'm the creator of Vocodes, and I wanted to give you all an update on the progress of the site as well as our future plans.
The website has come a long way since its debut a few months ago. It now has over 50 text to speech voices, with dozens more on the way. People have made incredible videos, like SpongeBob covering Cardi B's WAP, and SpongeBob and Homer covering Money Machine by 100 gecs
The future pipeline for voices is mostly anime and cartoon voices, as these are proving to be hugely popular. Look for Sonic, Vegeta, Solid Snake, and many more in the coming days and weeks. We still take requests, especially when there is data provided to us.
In addition to the new voices, I'm heavily focused on new features to make the website more useful:
-
Browser-based face swapping with first-order-model.
-
Browser-based wav2lip
-
The thing I'm most excited about: browser-based voice conversion. You can upload audio or record with your microphone and have your voice transformed to that of a target speaker.
-
An editor that allows you to mix audio and video.
We're going to add a "vo.codes" watermark to make it clear this is deep faked content, but it should make for lots of fun YouTube memes.
I will eventually swap out the glow-tts/melgan model pipeline for higher fidelity, better sounding TTS, but I'd prefer to focus on more voices and more features. We can always retrain the models now that we have the data.
Please let me know what you think about the roadmap and if there's anything you'd like to see.
