What is the difference between a void and a voidable contract? | Simon, Monahan & Simon L.L.C.
February 15, 2023 - If your contract turns out to be void, it means you have an agreement that is not legal under law. From the very start, the contract was not legitimate. Therefore, a court will almost certainly rule that any money or property that changed hands during the period of the contract will go back to the initial owner. The main difference between a voidable contract and a void one is that a voidable agreement contains legal terms and language for the most part or even in full.

What's the difference between "void", "voidable" and "unenforceable" in contract law?
Void: not enforceable. E.g. a contract to commit a crime for money. Voidable: not enforceable at the option of the person against whom the obligation is to be enforced. E.g. most contracts with minors. Unenforceable: not able to be enforced, often, but not necessarily, because a clause is void or voidable-and-voided. More on reddit.com
Tips/Memory Aid for Types of Contracts
Outside of simply memorizing them, what i would do is try to understand the contracts nature instead and also consider the perspective of the parties entering into the contract. So I would try to set up rules instead for distinguishing. R0 - Contracts under the law is not an actual physical thing. It cannot be touched, sensed or seen. The paper form of contracts merely tell the existence of the contract, but the same is not the actual contract. A contract is born from the acts of the parties, but the effects of the contract and their validity are regulated by law. R1 - Assume the Contract is valid and binding, use the elems described in the book for a valid contract. R2 - Rescissible contracts are actually valid contracts. The purpose of Rescissible Contracts is in the perspective of the parties, wherein one of them is injured by the act of another. Rescissibility is more of a remedy available after a contract is made due to actions later done. R3 - Voidable contracts are valid contracts that contain a flaw at the time the contract was entered into that is fixable later. If the contract can be fixed, then the contract is voidable. R4 - Unenforceable Contracts are valid contracts. But the law requires certain steps or forms in which the contract should be in for it to be enforceable or demandable. This connects with the Statute of Frauds, the contracts here are valid, but if the same are not in a certain FORM or registered, then the parties cannot enforce the valid contract neither can they have a legal action. R5 - Void contracts attack the very heart of a contract. It is not a simple flaw, the problem persist beyond the time the parties entered into the contract. It cannot be corrected, it cannot be fixed. R6 - the difference between voidable and unenforceable is that for voidable, something is missing when the parties entered into the contract, but in unenforceable contracts the party completed the contract and it is valid but did not do an additional step required under the law. For example, let’s say a homeowner and a general contractor sign an agreement to have the contractor remodel the homeowner’s house. If the contract states that the homeowner can terminate the agreement if the homeowner doesn’t get a loan from her bank to pay for the work, and the loan doesn’t come through, the homeowner could terminate or “void” the contract before any work is done. While it may seem like void contracts and voidable contracts are the same, there are differences you need to understand.
