Did anyone ever watch Walking With Dinosaurs: The Movie (2013)?
Yes, I remember watching it a couple months after it released in cinemas and absolutely loving it as was in the perfect age demographic as I watched so many Dinosaur documentaries religiously when my age was still in singular digits and I remember enjoying it for the general feel of the movie as it was a good children's movie (could be childhood bias, but as a movie it was generally ok), but what really caught my eye was the scale and feel of the Dinosaurs as the movie some how made the Dinosaurs that weren't the main characters feel like actual animals, the set pieces/cinematography was just beautiful looking at it years later as I got into film study as a hobby and the CGI was just breathtaking to look at as for when it was made many Dinosaur fans no matter how they feel about the movie at least all agree that this movie is really well made in the visual department. The glaring flaw I see alot of people like saying is that the voices of the main characters are either annoying or just flat out unnecessary, I can agree to some extent, but as I grow to love this movie and hearing the voices only come out of the main characters and everything is generally the same to how Dinosaurs would actually act, this movie is just great to me as a fan of Paleontology and what came before us as there are so many things to learn. All and all my feelings for this movie is that it is a good introduction to anyone who loves Dinosaurs just on a visual aspect but is also for those who have a younger relative or child who also love Dinosaurs as it's a good children's movie and I believe in a couple more years time, this movie will be seen as really nostalgic to most and or the movie's view will probably change or not it's been nearly 10 years since this movie released and people either really like it or are just not in for Dinosaurs with voices as it differs from the source material it had as a basis, but I can finally say is this movie is just nostalgic for me as a fan of Dinosaurs, who watched the original documentaries at a very young age and didn't criticize the majesty of these amazing creatures from millions of years gone by that still mange to bring wonder to generations to come. Thank you and sorry for going on a tangent with my thoughts on this movie as I have nostalgic feeling towards it and (sorry if there's any wording I got wrong as I'm typing this half tired), but all and all thank you for bringing up this topic as it brought back some nostalgia to my day, thank you. Wow, without all the annoying dialogue, Walking with Dinosaurs is actually a pretty damn good movie.
I'm still so mad about the voiceovers. I've been tempted to watch it on mute for a long time but haven't gotten around to it. I feel like we'll never get another Walking With doc because of what they did to this fucking movie. More on reddit.com

My thoughts on "Walking with Dinosaurs"

March of the Dinosaurs, iirc, is narrated by Stephen Fry and doesn't have dialogue amongst the characters. It was well done for the most part; a few bits of unrealistic aggression from predators like a tyrannosaurid chasing a living prey dinosaur despite lots of carrion lying around. It's been a while, though, so I migt be confusing it with other programs.

If you haven't seen it, I would recommend BBC's Planet Dinosaur (not Dinosaur Planet, an American program that is terrible). Much more scientific, including actual reasoning behind why they portray dinosaurs they way they do. It can be a bit graphic, but an eleven-year-old might be old enough to enjoy it.

I’ve just ended up watching it with my dinosaur-mad son. It’s similar to the series, but they added an entertaining voiceover to connect more with younger audience members.
What’s the general consensus on it here?

Walking with Dinosaurs: The Movie
Thrilling, semi-educational CGI movie with a few scary bits. Read Common Sense Media's Walking with Dinosaurs: The Movie review, age rating, and parents guide. Audiences expecting a big-budget dinosaur documentary with extra realistic visuals will be somewhat disappointed. This isn't a narrated documentary like most BBC Earth productions or the original Walking with Dinosaurs, which featured the voice of Kenneth Branagh. This is basically Ice Age meets The Lion King via The Land Before Time -- but with amazing, digitally created landscapes and creatures (instead of animation) to recreate the t
